ok guys and the few girls... my engine makes a ticking/rattle noise when its running sounds like an inkpen clicking when you shut it off it makes a put put put put PSSSSH sound. wtf is wrong with this car? i have had more trouble with this brand new car than i have with all the used cars put together!!!

 

Ticking is probably injectors, which is normal. The noise upon shut off is normal for all Cobalts.

 

the ticking is louder now than it used to be and it never made the noise on shut off before till about a week ago when it made the squealing noise and all but died to me it sounds like loose rockers but im not sure

 

I know for a fact the noise on shut down is normal.

Definitely entirely normal. My car does this all the time and there's no problem with it.

 

my car ticks and psssh's too. But its direct injection and turbo .

But ya ive heard of other cars doing similar things after you turn them off to be totally normal

 

Aren't all the 09's DI? I could def be wrong but I thought the LT's were as well. If so then it's just the DI...totally normal. I don't have the pssssh sound...not sure what that is.

 

the ticking is quieter and the pssh is barely there now i changed the fuel filter i can also go 60-100 in 15 seconds now instead of to only 90 and can hit 85 in the 1/4 instead of 80 and no more bogging issues on take off just crazy tq steer
