motor replaced by Wal-Mart oil change.
I used to change oil at Wal-Mart and I know I did a good job - pride in my work. My co-workers though - I'd never let them TOUCH my car. There is zero training - it's all "on the job". And since the oil changes are cheap, pressure is on to do it as fast as possible. They use the lube ctr to bring customers in the store, it makes no money.
Just for information the new motor cost 3500.00 plus labor total 5800. plus. Check this out the motor came complete with new clutch and supercharger and oil and GM sent the motor 2nd day fed ex no charge. My car will be back tomorrow. Next working on getting money from GM for my wheels flacking looks like about 150 to 200 per wheel.
They sent the check next day air. GM sent the motor 2nd day air Fed Ex no extra charge.
The motor came complete with new clutch, oil, supercharger and everything except the alternator. Will get the car back same week I got the check. I had them install a stage 2 kit at the same time. They ended up with some extra money left over since they did not know how the motor was going to come so I am getting the stage 2 kit almost for free. Yet to see how much they are going to charge but it looks close. Of course the new warranty for 100,000 miles 3 years. They want the old motor back exactly like the new motor came with a huge core charge which they haven't told what it is yet.

its seems like you hear about wal-mart and jiffy lube a lot. but in reality every place makes mistakes once in a while. The only diffrence is that there isnt 1000's of them like there is wal-marts and jiffy lubes. So people here more bad things about them then the other oil changing service stores.
also. glad to hear they are helping you out.

wal-mart messed up the oil pan on a blazer for someone i knew, they replaced it without hassle as well, he ended up getting a nice high capacity bronze moroso oil pan (i think that was the brand)
my walmart i took my new rims and tires to to have the tires mounted on rim and balanced. they did a decent job, its when i saw then pull out and peal out of the parking log is when i raised hell, got the tech fired and a lifetime supply of oil changes lol, not that i go there for oil changes, i do it myself!@
can you get the other motor?
pay the 1100 and keep the other motor.
or i'll pay it and you send it to me

well if your getting 5800 your set....
the LSJ on crateenginedepot is like $3300, and the supercharger definitely isnt another $2500, so you can just buy the LSJ, the M62, and keep the change for parts

All I can say is this WTF were you thinking going to Wally World to let them do an oil change on an SS/SC! I wouldn't let them touch my beater car let alone my baby! But glad it's working out for you!
Walmart and oil change shouldn't be in the same sentence ever. EVER.
That is seriously insane that they did that though. You would think that you would need some sort of automotive certification to change oil for a major corporation. Then again it is Walmart.

Just glad to see it worked out. I know the Walmart here makes you sign something. I guess if the oil is low or anything they can try to get out of trouble if there is any. Either way if they do something crazy like run it without oil or something there going to bite the bullet.
