25mpg pure city, 30mpg mixed, 37mpg pure highway. I make a 110 mile round trip to/from school once a week. It's technically highway, no stop and go, but it's mostly 2 lane and lower speeds than a freeway (50mph). On those trips I see 40-41mpg.

1) You have an auto, we have manuals. Having full control over your shift points is paramount.

2) Driving smarter, not necessarily slower. For us it means staying out of boost, for example.

3) Make sure everything on the car is in top condition. Plugs, filters, tires, etc. When that stuff starts going downhill it will rob power AND fuel economy.

Also, try actually calculating your MPG instead of going by your computer for a few tanks. My DIC shows a slightly lower MPG than what I'm actually getting.

I do almost the same, I have a 208 mile round trip every weekend, from Naples to Miami, and I have been as high as 37.2 (that is tailing a big truck for less wind resistance), usually closer to 35 cause the speed on I-75 is on average 80+, I try to keep it 65-70. In the city, with moderately high traffic I get about 26.

I have an Injen CAI, in a box under my bed, I have been waiting to make a few trips to see what the improvement was after I installed it. I was actually planning on installing it this weekend, so I will post up new averages over the next month.

Then I hope that an exhaust will help too.

Also, if you search, there are other threads like this.

I average about 26 mpg. Every once in a while I will get a wild hair and get on the car just for the hell of it. In those situations I usually end up averaging about 22 mpg.

I get 25.7 average driving city and highway, I almost always shift at 4000 rpm or higher. Started shifting at 3000 rpm and saw a huge improvement in mpg.
