That seem rather high, why is that you think you get such high mileage?

i think im at 26.5-27 right now. I always reset the indicator after each new fill. Stop and go traffic for roughly 26 miles one way each day.

HAHA. everyone else here is posting about mpg in a cobalt. So 800kg is approx 1760 lbs, I would think it would do even better than 40mpg with it being nearly 1150 lbs lighter than the Cobalt

I average 31.5-32.5 mpg

i guess this trip of yours was either no or only slight in elevation change. I have experienced this as well but only on a road where there is no change in elevation.

For my 06 2.2 5 speed:

Regularly 28-30mpg in town (to and from school and work is 45 mph and little to no stops), I also take a while to get up to speed, but ironically go over the posted limit once I get there.

On the interstate I've seen as high as 46mpg (doing ~66 with a 25-30 mph tailwind) and a low of 29.1 (85-90mph and slight headwind). I also don't have cruise and assume it would improve my highway milage.

mine hasn't been reset for about 8 months. it is currently at 28.9. i drive all over the place. i'd say that it's about half and half city/hwy.

i think we need to divide this up by engine model...and not go by the dash numbers...i mean...this is another tank of gas that i've calculated and got 21 mpg on my ss/sc...kinda pushin her...not "beating" her (yeah, its a chick)...but i know stage 2 runs rich...so we're dealing with that too...

Now, I take issue with this, because in order to go 115 miles in 1.5 hours, you would have to travel at an average speed of 77mph, and I can't go at 77mph at 2,500 rpm, so that means in order to average 77 you must have gone way past 2,500rpm, this makes it inefficient. Even if the rpms are not an issue, and I ignore the speed, then how is that you have used so little gas for having gone so far, you have not even used a quarter of the tank in the picture. I would be inclined to say that it might be because I have the SS/SC and you have the LS, but the fact is that I rented a LT (which should get the same mileage as the LS) and drove 102 miles without pushing it hard at all in 2 hours, and only got 35 mpg.

Maybe I am wrong, or maybe your numbers are off a bit...

I said "approx" 115...average speed was between 70 and 80, 3k in my car is about 79 mph. and besides, you're trying to make assumptions about 1.5 hours worth of driving based on that .001 second that the pic was taken. oh and if i'm coming to school (through Canada, all highway) i get over 400 miles to the tank.
