My INTENSE weekend experience...

Finally made my decision to roll up to Plain City to get stage 3 installed in my silver 06' SS/SC.
Me and a friend (who owns a Black 04' EVO, tinted windows, stage1, lowered with 18x9" bronze Weds Sport rims. Sweet lookin' ride, also very quick!!) rolled up together to possibly test the new improved Cobalt against his Evo on the way back home.

The trip (one way) takes us less then an hour coming from Dayton. Upon arrival at Intense, I notice the they have a very clean facility and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Tim King and Todd Allen really make you feel at home the moment you walk in. Tim gave me and my friend a tour of Intense Enterprise and showed us the different projects that they have worked and are working on, including Scott Cooks record setting Turbo Grand Prix (9.996 Qtr Mile) Tossed me my "INTENSE" T-shirt and decals and told us to help ourselves to the fridge in the kitchen. So me and my friends plopped ourselves on the huge black leather sofa and stared talking car stories and watching qtr mile runs on withTodd Allen on his laptop

About an hour after pulling the Cobalt into the huge garage they have, a mess load of car talk betwwen me, my friend and Todd, and getting full off of Mountain Dew, Cheetos and cookies, the "plug" part of the operation was complete. Now it was time to test the "play" part.

Starting the car there was no noticable difference. so I pulled the car out of the Intense parking lot and hit the gas. Let me say this.. I almost flew right pass the stop sign at the end of the strip because I got there so quick. I turned the corner and got back on the gas and the Cobalt leaped forward with angry aggression as if on a mission to get to the next intersection before I can say "Holly Shhh..) Once again I'm hard on the brakes and my eyeballs ( and my ***** for that matter) nearly detach themselves from my body.

Pulling back in to the Intense parking lot everyone was waiting to see the result of the operation. The answer was very clear once they saw the smile from ear to ear on my face.

On the way home I noticed that it was after 5 o'clock ( or should I say 5.0 Cop?) Not only were the cops out but the "after work traffic" on 70 West was horrible. Needless to say the Cobalt and the Evo ( Tim King was cruising with us too in his modded Gran Prix since he lives in Beavercreek) Didn't have a chance to stretch it's legs. I did however get a few good quick speed spurts in and the car responded intantly.

My props goes out to the team at INTENSE (Tim and Todd) for making me and my friends feel more then comfortable upon arrival. These guys are awesome and will bend over backward to help you out anyway they possibly can. Thanks again guys. The cars running good and strong with no belt slippage at all.

Tim.. your car is faster then a fat man on ex-lax. He can lay a good 100 to 120 feet of two wheel rubber while going about 30 to 40 MPH. Crazy.
Again Thanks for making our wait both entertaining and enjoyable.

wow that sounds awesome. I wanna take my car to Intense but they are so far away. If i get the intense kit I want to be able to dyno tune it right away. IDK maybe I will make a weekend trip over the summer. Great to hear hope you enjoy the car and I have heard nothing but great things about intense.

Tim was very thorough. He showed me everything he did to the car and also showed me his finshed work. The motor looks stock except for the Maf translater box. Can't wait to test it out on an unsuspecting rival.

My last serious race was with an Infiniti M series. Can't remember the number but it was an 04' model, V8 with 335 HP creme color, very clean. He wasnt expecting the Cobalt to run as strong as it did against him. It took him by suprise and he must have thought it was the non SC version so he had to really work hard to catch me. Besides, I had my son riding in the back with me and couldn't really give him a run for the money like I wanted too. Had to let off right before 100mph

But NOW, it will be a different story.

Also had a run in with a 06 Charger R/T. He tried to run away from me but little did he know, he wasn't going anywhere. Actually he was shocked when I told him what it was. He ask me (walking into Best Buy because he worked there) Was that you behind me? I said yea. He said, What is that anyway, it's pretty sweet lookin'?? I said It's a Cobalt ( not indicating it was supercharged) His reply was "Man, you definately have a sleeper there. I couldn't get away from you!"

This all happened "before stage 3". Now it's a new day. Can't wait.

Yes. They tuned it there. I also purchased the Interceptor Gauge and they entered the codes on it as well. Sweet gauge. Got the blue one. Looks real sweet at night.

Yeah, I know I know.

Right now I just have the kit and that's it. My next move will be the Magnaflow catback and the K&N intake.
Maybe I went a little backwards in getting stage 3 first before the other mods but oh well. A dyno will come sooner or later. I'm curious to see the results before and after the Magnaflow and intake. Then I'll head to the track when the weather breaks.

Intense experience

What's up T! I am the Evo owner that went with T and I must say even though I don't own a Cobalt SS I am very impressed with Intense. They are professionals in the extreme sense, and they will go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. I am a custom shop owner as well and must say they are good. I have offered them my expertise on my end providing other parts for the Cobalt. I sold and dropped T's SS and must say it looks good and rides good. If anyone needs other parts for the Cobalt/ Cobalt SS like wheels, tires, brakes, body kits, Lowering springs, or anything else you think of, hit my web site and slide me an email. If the interest is there, I will become a supporting vendor. Intense Racing's Stage III kit is beyond expectations and they deserve the Cobalt Communities support.

Evo04: Thanks Evo04 for the post. We'll get together and run to see what both cars can really do.

Mercury: That's a good question. I really haven't had a chance to really put her through her paces but so far it seems to be on par or maybe even better then stock. Not sure at the moment. I'll keep you posted.

Good mileage I would think as long as you don't have a lead foot.

Exactly. But it's pretty hard not to do, especially with the new found power under your right foot ya know??

Tell me about it. My new found power also makes me want to drive fast all day long, but the gas prices kick me into reality. You see how much gas It took to get up there and back. But I will continue to make mine faster.

That's always the answer. Make it faster so you can get to the gas station quicker to fill'er up

More power is always anyway. Forget gas mileage. $23.00 fills mine up and i'm good 2 go.

$524.99 minus my military discount plus the interceptor gauge = a lot of bang for your buck

They are located @ 8430 Estates Court in Plain City.
I took 42 to 161 left on Warner to Industrial Parkway. Made a left onto Industrial to Estates Court on the left. Last left on a dead end street they are the second to last building. Signs out front, can't miss it.

I just got off the phone with Tim (Who's heading home in his crazy fast Grand Prix) He just told me that they just recieved some cams, valve springs and some other stuff for the Cobalt.
They are still waiting to crack the PCM code for these things but once that's done, things will really start to open up for our cars.

He also stated how serious Intense is about what they do. They are constantly experimenting with the Cobalt and have about three guys working to crack the PCM. It's always good news to hear a company is as passionate about your car as you are.

I fully support these guys at what they do down there and wish them much success in the coming future.

More power to you, and us for that matter.

Thanks again Tim.
