Is it the same as it's always been on the vin in that the last few digits are always sequence numbers? If that's the case...your's is the 150th built. Nice even number.
Thats awesome. My order was at the step before you get assigned a VIN monday (2/28/05) so I am hoping it was finished today like yours and I will have a VIN when I check with the dealer next. I ordered the same thing you cobaltsslvr.
Arrival Blue
Black inserts
Sunroof
XM
no side curtain air bags tho.

*edited by zinner to remove the links to a internal GM site, they didn't work anyway* my bad -cobaltsslvr
The only way you will get a VIN# is if the car is built - there is no other way. Then it has to be bayed (stored), then Inspected (quality control), and then it's shipped - all this can take up to 3 weeks before you get it.
You can't use this website, but us dealers do: www.gm-dealerworld.com, www.chevylaunch.com, www.gmprices.com ....

Currently VINs typically alternate between models (TrailBlazer & Envoy, Suburban & Yukon XL & Escalade ESV (I think) etc.)
Vins don't necessarily indicate anything any more with the last 8, with the exception that the first two of the last 8 indicate model vehicle (all 05 Cobalts are XY or whatever)

P.S. Congrats on your new Cobalt!!!
I am thinking about posting the www.gmlaunch.com website and will include a BAC from a dealership just for the fun of it - would anyone here object?
You will see COBALT insider info, news and updates.
Any objections?

But I would think it to be "bad form" inviting others to do something like that.
It's not like that specific site has a tremendous amount of information on it, or is very secure anyway.
Just don't tell them that just about any six digit number starting with a 1 will probably work anyway.

To viewers of this forum:
There is a very nifty website with loads on information on the Cobalt and future Chevy vehicles, like the HHR, Z06, 2006 Impala, Monte Carlos and others... but I want to give you the website... but here is the catch (it's somewhat a moral judgement), I can't give you the code to get in, it's also known as a BAC code. If you find a BAC code somehwere online (you might do a search) and put in the BAC, you will enter this website, so if you are really clever, you might find some good info only us dealers have access to.
The website is http://www.chevylaunch.com/
P.S. This site will not give any inventory or order details for US or CDN customers. It's purely informational, but some good info at that.
If I get fired or fined for this - Costa Rica, here I come, AGAIN! I love taking 4 month vacations.
