need quick exhaust answer
Hey guys,
So, I'm debating what to do here.. The situation is this.. I have a 2.4 SS.. It obviously had the stock up-level exhaust.. I removed that about a year into owning the car and put on a GMPP Performance catback.. It was a couple years old, but in good condition.. After a few more years (and many miles) it began to get very loud and droney (I'm auto).. So instead of replacing the muffler and/or resonator, I just swapped it for a different system.. I went to an Ark N2 catback.. It looked cool, but it was even louder! It sounded good with the silencer in, except for the idle.. At idle with the silencer in it sounds like my old 250 quad.. lol So I'm set-up to meet up with the guy I traded exhausts with and to trade back.. But I'm worried that it may still be too loud.. SO, I have a few ideas of how to take care of this.. This is where you guys come in..
1) Convert back to GMPP and eventually swap out resonator and/or muffler with a quieter set-up (Flowmaster Hushpower type set-up).
2) Convert back to stock SS and just stay that way. Generally pretty quiet - except under load. I have a CAI, so it'll be a tad throaty..
3) Convert back to stock SS and replace the muffler with a higher-flow version.
What would you guys suggest? The reason it's urgent is because I'm meeting up with him on Saturday.. If anything else, I'll just default to the GMPP, but I'm worried about it still seeming too loud.. Although still quieter than the Ark..
Thanks!!

See, I will likely not do another header/dp because I had a ZZP catless system with my GMPP and it was insanely loud. But even WITH a cat installed it was still bad..
So I'll likely just replace it with a muffler it's self.. Will the flow with a different muffler on a stock system be similar to the GMPP?
Also, does an oval muffler fit into the stock muffler area? I was wondering about the sizing issue.. Pic by chance of oval set-up?
Considering this muffler:

Vibrant Streetpower flat black.. Looks dope.. Gonna check out sound clips here soon..

Sure an oval muffler fits in the stock area. I'll get you a link to my catback when I first had it installed. (that's before I had the ZZP header/DP and resonator).
