Need some help and advice
Hey everyone. Its been a while since I posted on here. I like what I see for car of the month. Really nice. Anyways, I'm in a situation. I'm not sure if many of you remember my car, it was the Black cobalt ss s/c with the nightmare before christmas hood. I liked it but I didnt like it. Very mixed feelings with it. Basically, the car got repo'd on June 8th of this year. Worst day of my life. I've taken a big...BIG hit from it. No homo but I cried when they took it. Basically I've decided to join the army. (I haven't talked to a recruiter yet)
But The cobalt got sold for $10,300. I owe $10,600 now. I don't have a job or anything (hence why I'm joining the army). I've changed a lot in my life as far as this year goes. I cut down on the drinking and smoking (ciggs and weed).
So now I'm in a situation where I would want to start off my life just right. I want to get another cobalt (I honestly truely loved the car). I want to get a White cobalt t/c with a sunroof and high rise spoiler.
I'm also jobless at the moment so I'd need to start saving up (either before or after bootcamp)
Please, give me some advice.

You say you're "in a situation where I would want to start off my life just right." How does buying a new object at all possibly get your life going correctly? Your life isn't found in something you've bought.
A car forum isn't where you get life's answers, it's just a hobby. Read the Bible. Seek and find something better
Now is a good time to invest if you're worried about finances. Don't aim for short-term. If you want to get your life back on track, look long-term. Nothing happens overnight except deciding to make a change. It sounds like you've already made some good decisions in that respect (quitting drugs, joining the military, and mentioning saving up). If I were you, I'd honestly start exercising (either cardio or weightlifting). Nothing makes you more happy than your health, and that's the biggest blessing of all other than your family. Exercise helps you bring balance to your life and helps you focus better on everything you do. It releases extremely powerful and potent chemicals to make you all-around feel better. As far as the new SS TC goes, I wouldn't worry so much about that right now, considering you already owe 10 grand on the old one.
He's right on that one. Having a hobby is extremely important because it helps you stay relaxed and focused on a goal. However, this is an expensive hobby and not usually recommended for someone in debt. Maybe take up a sport or join a local community club. Meet more people and make friends. That's how to locate potential job offers. Branch out and broaden your horizons. Open some doors and get your foot in. Unfortunately, it's no longer who you are but who you know.

buy it! they are having red tag sales now at chevy, and the first time you turn the key and take off n it u will know itwas the rght thing to do.
Don't buy a car with money you don't have. If you join the Army ... you won't see it anyways. Save up, pay off debt, buy a house.
99% of cars will never increase in value (100% of Cobalts) it's not a smart investment. Give up smoking and drinking, join a gym and ride the bus. Then, buy a base model car. When you're financially stable and can afford an expensive hobby - buy a money pit car.

Why not Army?
They'll get you an education and a job. They teach life lessons that sometimes people don't learn (and should)... I'm not Army or ex-Army, nor do I even live in the US, but the Army IS a great option for people who have no foreseable future and would ultimatley turn to drugs and alcohol (as the OP stated he had problems with).

You won't get a security clearance with that much debt, or if you do, it's going to be a pain getting it.
I just don't agree with the whole I **** my life to hell, so I'm joining the Army so they'll fix it philosophy that people like to have.

Just an Update,
I quit the drinking and the smoking. I've been working out nonstop and things have been going great till my girlfriend left me. It had a big impact on me but nothing I could do about it. It was a long distance relationship. (sigh) Anyways, I've taken lots of practice ASVAB test and I also found out getting the security clearance would be nearly impossible for me so I'm looking at other branches now besides the army (i.e. Air force, Navy) and I'll be taking the test in about 2 weeks. I want to leave either late February or Early March so I'm physically and mentally prepared.
@Karlen89 The military really is a great option. My life has hit rock bottom and taken a toll for the worst. Getting back on my feet would lead me deeper into the ground. I don't know anything about you or your life but it seems as though you have a fall back plan. I don't. My parents have their own problems with finances and raising my little brother and need all the money they have. I have no fall back option. I got kicked out of school, lost my job, lost my apartment. I hit rock bottom. I think it takes a strong person to go into the military to get their life on track, and if you can't see that then I suggest you lose your job, fall about 20k in debt at the age of 22, move back in with your parents and lose your car and also get kicked out of college with only a few months left before graduation. Then lets see your plan on getting back on your feet. Your logic is flawed. Good day.
