Nothin' wrong with non-SS's!
As far as wheels, shouldn't be a problem changing them. I have the 15" alloys myself and I plan on going to 16's.

Put it this way. When I owned my LS1 Trans Am the car always set off all the car alarms as they pulled it into the shop at the dealership (no cats, bullet muffler). Hell my service advisor keep asking when I was going to put a cam in it because he thought that would be cool. I never once had a problem with getting warranty work done and that car was in there a ton because of electrical problems. I even drove around a 4 cylinder LS1 for a few days because the PCM was jacked and only the left side of the engine was firing.
