Take it easy for the first 500 miles then gradually start pushing the engine harder.

Floor it non-stop, full boost it, power shift, e-brake slides, reverse 180's, race it, redline it, enjoy it.
J/K Ditto to what he said, take it easy for the first 5400-500 miles, then gradually start driving it a little harder. After about 1,000 you should be alright.

Someone should really tell the dealerships this. I saw a yellow one the other day and everyone of the dealers were bragging about going 140+ in it.

If I worked for a dealer I'd be driving all the cars fast. I test drove a WRX with the dealer guy in the car and we hit like 120mph. I understand the part about the car not being yours....but thats the best part, hahaha

Can't speak for yours, but the yellow one I test drove before ordering mine got some rough treatment from about 315 to 350 miles on the odometer

I would do that to, but nothin crazy...
You should be able to run it hard without it hurting anything. I keep hearing that engines these days shouldnt have to be broken in really. If i had a new sc I would stay a couple grand away from red line and definitly run premium, that what I'm gunna do with my 2.4 ss.
Dont forget the first oil change, my dad forgot his for 40,000 miles when he got his used cavalier, which is now mine. Thank god it still works...

No, one of the sparkplugs stopped firing though, and he drove it on 3 cylinders for several months. It always died when he turned on the air conditioning.

Now the timing is fucked on it....
