New car or mods

I have a yellow 06 ls, and I am thinking about trading it in for a Solctice in a year or so or should I mod my cobalt and keep it through college and go from there.

Mods would be an air intake, exhaust, rims, projector headlights, dvd nav, and maybe a body kit.

Now to say what I have so far, LS, spoiler, keyless, tinted windows, auto.

The Solctice wouldn't have many add ons, if any, and of course would be yellow.

I'm stuck in between the two, I want this car to look nicer but I dont want to sink a few k into a car I'm trading in the near future.

Thats what I was thinking, but I'm a 17 y/o making 25k while living at home with only my car payment. What would be the pros of modding the balt and what would be the cons. keep in mind if I mod the balt I would only keep it about 2 to 3 years more before trading.

Keep in mind a Solstice is in no way a year round car.

Just keep the balt and mod it.

I'd say put your money away to save up on a down payment for the solstice.

Keep in mind if you're trading in soon, that mods usually hurt trade-in value. Rims and body kits are highly subjective. Even if you save all the stock stuff and re-install it, you have to make sure its perfect (no dealer is going to give you a good price if the stock exhaust is just barely hanging on, for example).
