New Cobalt Owner

Hey whats up everybody? I finally got a cobalt after 3 years of wanting one! I've been to the track already and was surprised by the car, but disappointed by my driving...anyways I'm lookin for things to do my car. Any suggestions? I've heard from a guy that works at the chevy garage at home I shouldn't put in an intake

Welcome to the site, and congratulations on the car! An intake is a perfectly fine first mod.

BTW, which model do you have? SS/SC?

Oh hell ya thats the only way to go!! Go big or go home!! Any suggestions for which brand intake? I had a gm mechanic tell me to stay away from k&n cuz the oil for the filter messes up the sensor!

Favourite intakes seem to be K&N, AEM, Injen, RAW and RD Fabs. K&B swears up and down that theirs can't mess up sensors, but there are plenty of choices.

Is there any one dominant company for exhaust out there? I like a low deep rumbling sound cuz I used to have a V8 but that **** got too expensive

I ran a K&N drop in filter for over a year without any issues , it's when you over oil the filter when cleaning it that can cause a problem .

Injen intake FTW. K&N and others are good to. Just get a dryflow filter if you are worried about getting oil on the maf.

Intake helps airflow and unleashes the whine that makes us so unique..... it's a must.

welcome to the most helpful cobalt site in the world.

Also, for a low tone exhaust. Look into Borla or the GMPP Touring Exhaust... I don't know anything about the others.
