New Cobalt owner

Just a quick blurb from me. I'm looking to upgrade my '07 Cobalt LT, 2.2L a little and here's what I'm looking at so far:

Short Throw Shifter (B&M)
Rear Sway Bar (Project)
DC Sports Strut Tower
Magnaflow 2.25" Catback Exhaust
Injen Cold Air Intake

I'm on a rather limited budget so the exhaust and CAI will probably have to wait. But does anyone have more suggestions for limited budget bolt-ons? I really have no idea what sort of mods might run into restrictions due to needing other parts modded to keep up, etc.

I am still going through the info on the forums (work time is rather lengthy right now and I haven't had time to go through as much as I'd like yet) so please don't harass me too much lol. I'm working my way through the forums and googling as much as possible.

This car is used quite a bit (usually 500+ miles per week) so I'm not looking to sacrifice fuel economy for power. Stability, safety and acceleration are what I'm looking for. Granted I realize that better acceleration may require a small sacrifice in fuel economy, but as long as it's not huge (like 32MPG -> 25MPG) I can live with it.

If anything I've said sounds dumb blame it on my n00bness lol. I'm pretty much fishing for info to help with my car and help my knowledge in automotives a bit.

Thanks in advance,

EDIT: My bad, should I have put this in the 2.2L Performance forum? I just now noticed it... if this is the wrong forum, my apologies.

I/H/E is always a good thing to start with. I'd work on those first and wait with the suspension stuff.. unless you are planning on doing a lot of auto-crossing

Any personal recommendations on the headers? I've seen the 4-into-1's from Pacesetter so far... Still doing some research on headers.

And thanks for the quick response Raine

EDIT: The primary reason I'm looking at the suspension stuff is that I do a lot of traveling on roads that curve to hell and back. Would the investment in the anti-sway bars provide a noticeable difference in body roll? I've also heard that the front sway bars can cause quite a bit of understeer... is that dependent upon the size of the bar or just the stiffness? And due to the understeer is it better to just isntall a rear anti sway bar? I've considered lowering springs but the way these roads in SW Pennsylvania are I'm rather hesitant to do that... I know, lots of quesitons lol. Thanks in advance.

i/h/e is a good start. also, with the sway bars, it will help with the steering a bit (roommate got some on his GTi). Honestly, for better handeling, you might want to look into some coilovers, something that is adjustible for ride height. Leave it on a moderate (not to low, not to high) setting, and see how that goes. its not a cheap thing to do, but could make considerable different in how it handles. itll be a little stiffer, and you feel more of the road, but hey, that might not be a bad thing!

Instead of coilovers, would Konis and the Eibach Pro kit be a worthwhile investment for daily driving? A lot of the looking I've done points to the coilovers being best for if the car is going to see track time and mine won't. Any thoughts? And would the Eibach kit be necessary? I've just seen it as an inclusion with the Konis...

EDIT: NVM I've been looking over the coilovers... the Gravanas look like a really good buy so far. Disregard this thread if you all want. I should be able to post some more specific questions in the future. I've learned quite a lot over the past few days! Terrific site!
