New Here

Hey everyone.
Im new here to the site.
Ill just write a lil bit about me and my car.
Im 17....18 on January 3.
I live in Federal Way Washington
I just bought an 05 Aveo.
Its red with a razzi body kit.
I have not started the research yet
But i want to find out how much work it will take
To put in a 2.0 L Cobalt engine.
Lol.
But until then im looking to turbo my current engine along with a lot more engine work along with the interior and exterior looks of the car.
And since there arent any Aveo performance forums or ne thing like that.
You guys were the closest.
And since im gonna try to throw a cobalt engine in later
I figured id join with you guys
And go to as many of ur meets as i can.

Heres some pics of my Aveo.

Well thats pretty much it.
Ill talk to you all and see you all around.

lol well that's cute. my advise from starters and seeing your post is... well i cant give too much since I'm not sure if you can swap 2.0SC in but you need to make up your mind it you want to turbo that car or do the swap and work in one general direction I can tell you right now if you feel like spending a lot of money move towards the swap if you fell like only spending around 5-7k then go for the turbo.

well im wont do the swap im gonna guess for quite a while....the turbo system i can put in for around 4 grand. And i know the swap will probably end up costing me 10 grand or more.
So im not sure how long till i can do that.

And here we have it... the world's first Aveo SS...

Dude... why in the world are you modding a 100hp econobox?

That's... just... wrong.

Atleast the body kit isn't total rice.

It would make for one helluva sleeper though, would be pretty funny to see a aveo smoke just about anything.

I think the car looks nice, and it's funny cause I saw one this morning and thought, what if you put the 2.0L SC engine in one of those, they would probably fly.

I thought to myself, that would be awesome to see, and then, here I find this. What a coincidence. If you have the money I say do it, if not Turbo it.

Welcome to the site and Good Luck with your project. I say keep us updated!

ok, 2 things... if you're looking from a performance standpoint, there is absolutely no reason to have a working dual exhaust... it's actually not even possible, technically speaking...

Are there any companies that even make a turbo setup for an Aveo? I would think the custom install would cost a fortune for that thing, esp given the limited engine bay space. Unless of course you want to take the risk and do it yourself, but then again, it will need a pricey custom tune after that. Good luck, you are going where no man has gone before.

Yes there is a turbo system that will work. Its not a large turbo system.
Only boosts to about 7 psi.

Yes it is possible. Two primaries going to one pipe two going to another but that involves custom header, dp, exhaust and would be hella expensive.

I'd love to see a turbo aveo. What kind of motors are in those? Specs?

Here Are the specs:
1.6 L Ecotech Engine
4 Valves
16 Cylinder
DOHC

And the turbo will cost me somewhere around 4 grand and then the custom exhaust probably another couple depending.
However i heard there is a twin turbo set up that may work.
I dont know for sure im doubting it.
Im waiting for more info on that.
