His tune could use some work? That's a understatement. He's got a turbo capable of 500 hp and its falling on it's face after 5500 rpms. Your knowledge of turbos is questionable. That is either a very terrible tune, or he's not running a s20g turbo. You seem a little ignorant.

Why do I care about his power curve? Imagine if I made 400 whp......at 3000 rpm's, but only made 140 whp at 6700 (red line). How much of my power is actually usable? Power under the curve is what matters, not peak numbers. Peak numbers are for marketing. You should know this.

I haven't personally invaded his facebook. But seriously, its facebook. Its public. What fairytale land do you live in? wether he has a turbo capable of 500hp or not im sure hes not gonna go there anytime soon unless he wants to do a whole engine rebuild because the stock internals will not be able to handle it. think first, its not just slap a turbo on tune and bam 500hp.

Not saying he's trying to make 500 hp. I'm pointing out the fact that a turbo capable of 500 hp shouldn't be falling on its face after 5500. Simply put, the power should have at least held until red line. Load at lower rpm's is more strenuous on the motor than the same load at higher rpm's. I'm well aware that 500 hp is not as easy as slapping on turbo and a tune.

If I got a gt3076 (capable of 500 hp) I would be pissed as hell if my power curve looked like that after a tune.

 

I am Nataphen, the douche mod from MSF. Not sure why Amazon went to these lengths to do this, but I figured I'd explain myself anyway. CobaltSS (his SN on our forum) and I met in our shoutbox last night. We had already had our friendly exchanges, given each other ****, and I was continuing in that spirit.

For some reason, the money comment got under my skin, bad day to blame I guess. Keeping one of my kids at home with the flu and had to order new tires today, which I wasn't expecting nor can I afford at the moment. After that, I quit posting, but I apologized to CobaltSS in shout soon after. Offered to buy him a chocolate milk if he was in town since he's not old enough to drink.

That's all, just letting you guys know that I'm normally more laid back. I was even nice to all the Civic guys on 8thcivic during our forum war.

 

His tune is crap that's pretty much all there is to it.

What is so unbelievable that you had to troll a cobalt forum. Are the numbers believable, um, yeah. LSJ will make 400+ stock with a turbo. 22lbs is about right with a good tune to do almost 400. As for the torque, maybe it's just how his timing table is set up? Ever think about that? Of course not you're a fucktard. Now go back to your dragon looking ms3 humper site and break some more rods trying to make 350hp.

You guys fail hard. Did any of you even read my original post and following ones? The numbers are not in question, the power curve is. I question it because the curve does not resemble a turbo capable of 500 hp. Therefore, I question whether or not it is indeed his dyno sheet. Is that too complicated for you guys to follow?

I think Marissa has drawn the most logical conclusion. If that is indeed his dyno, then his tuner didn't know what they were doing.

FYI: Plenty of MS3's are making well over 400 whp on stock internals.

Second - what the heck is this noise about "a turbo capable of 500hp shouldn't fall on its face"? Are we talking generic, or specific to these little engines, or the specific turbo in question? There's a lot of detail missing here, and that detail will determine whether that dyno sheet speaks truth or not.

A turbo that is capable of flowing enough air to make 500 hp should not have any issues flowing enough air for 400 hp at reline. Let me know if you can grasp the logic here.

Once again, no one, including me, ever claimed he was making 500 hp. I encourage you to re-read this entire thread. Maybe you'll learn something.

And we did, perhaps you guys would care to go up against us next year? We finished 3rd over all behind a track prepped STI and Z06. We bested the times of a Viper ACR, M3, Evo and some other higher end cars. Our guy was making around 270 - 280 whp lol
