Hey everybody im new here n this is my first thread I'm from Newark Ohio bought my baby about 6 months ago it's a victory red 06 cobalt ss
full zzp stage 3 kit just installed in the last month not tuned yet
2.7 inch pully
60 pound injectors
Dual pass
Oversized zzp heat exchanger
NGK spark plugs
Also before I got the car the guy before me put on an aftermarket header 2.5 inch I think it's a sumo cat back and full k&c typhoon cold air intake
Here's where I need help I have a bunch of questions as this is the first car I've ever attempted to build up I'm wanting to know to get more power out of my car what should I do
I have my snow performance meth kit on order and it will be here within the week
How do I install that as far as where the inputs go and so on
Also what is an aeroforce wide and gauge n what does it do and anything else I should know
Thanks guys

Welcome,
Most people are just going to tell you to search for everything, but I'll put in my $.02 quick for you.
Performance: TVS supercharger (missed some good deals on black friday for these lol).
Scan gauge: Aeroforce interceptor gauges are awesome and will let you monitor an incredible amount of aspects of your car. As for a wide band gauge (i assume thats what you were talking about), their general purpose is to monitor your exact A/F ratio so you know how lean/rich you are.

No problem on the on the info, TVS is a bigger supercharger therefore much more power then the stock M62, I believe Harrop is the manufacturer. Also, the aeroforce is most definitely a great idea if you want to play it safe since you aren't stock.

Yeah, probably not a good idea to drive it without a tune with that small pulley and as for tunes trifecta or HPtuners are your only two options really. From what I have gathered from snooping around here is that trifecta is a very reliable tune , but tends to run rich and has less power while HPtuners CAN be just as reliable and squeeze out more power, but they also can be unreliable and make less power if you get a tune from someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

+1 for contacting James (chevycobaltss3) on here especially if you live in Ohio. There are many threads where people bash different tuners and James is one that gets bashed a lot on here, but from a true 3rd party stand point ( i have never talked to or gotten tuned by him ), most of the bashing he receives is not needed. He seems like a stand up guy and will tune your car how ever you want it tuned (***** out or just reliable).

Didn't he say that he got the PCM with the ZZP kit? Therefore he does have a tune, it's just the canned ZZP tune. You can drive it, but look into going to ZZP or getting remote HPTuned by someone.

Well if you get ahold of James (chevycobaltss3) you will be getting a HPtune, not a Trifect. Trifecta is one guy tuning your car. With HPtune you have the options at many tuners. IMO HPTune is the better route to go, but its my preference. Nothing wrong with trifect

Lol my tc is slow, it's been having lots of issues, but I already have full bolt-ons so once my issues are fixed I'll be ready for a tune again, but still running the stock K04 I'll probably be looking at around 310 whp on 93 oct. As for Kdub on the other hand, he's probably somewhere ridiculous, I'm guessing 440-500whp with his mods lol.

pros and cons of both are pretty much what I already listed, this is something you can search up on pretty easy. Most of what you are going to find though is just trifecta people bashing HPtuners and HPtuners people bashing trifecta, basically what it all boils down to is HPtuners>Trifecta as long as you find a good HPtuner such as Area47, Terminator, chevycobaltss3, ect.

Yeah, before I tuned back to stock 2nd gear was useless with brand new tires, but then again I don't have a limited slip diff. I know more and more each day about our cars because I am on here everyday looking for new information and trying to learn.

Haha yea, I am sitting at 410/425 right now on a slow ramp, low timing and low boost. I am also on 93, ***** to the wall on 93 I would be around 425/440. And when I go E in the summer I will be looking at the 470 area. This is all on a Mustang Dyno, so it reads a bit lower then most..
