New problems just couldn't wait....

over the course of the weekend my battery light came on inside the car. No reason. Just came on. It won't go away. I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery. Nothing, checked my ground strap... looks fine. Put a voltage tester on it. Getting perfect voltage. This car is driving me insane with the constant problems it randomly has. Even under a high load(wipers, a/c, windows going up and down and sunroof opening and closing, brights) doesn't make the voltage drop much at all... I can't figure it out... but that damn red battery light is on solid but the CEL isn't on.... guidence besides taking it to the dealership and have them hold the car for a week to tell me they found nothing wrong?

Problem #12. Documented. Counting down to when I can claim a lemon....

I would still take your car into the dealer and see if they can't give you an answer ASAP, a couple of other ideas would be if you have another battery drop that in and see what happens...AutoZone usally will do a free battery check, so that's another idea. Keep us posted, good luck.

If the thing is under warranty then why are doing all this troubleshooting yourself? Sounds like a complete waste of time to me!! Am I missing something here??

Sucks to hear man, 12 problems? Damn that sucks. How many miles do you have? Im at 7,800 right now with no problems. (Knocks on desk)

I hope you get things straightened out, it's got to just be a minor issue that needs to be reset.

Your not but when you work with incompetint service department at various dealerships it's better to see if you can fix it first before they waste your time and say nothing is wrong

I swear my cobalt is satans little child .... maybe it's the color red that's painted from head to toe on the car, or maybe since it's the first year it's built with all the underlying issues i've had since then.

I swear I got like Cobalt SS #1 or 2 off the assembly line. Shouldn't have to keep having issues like this.

No, you shouldn't. I could have bought any car I wanted (well within a certain price range) and I settled on the SS/SC because of my Cavy history. As discouraging as the posts are about problems owners are having, I still have faith in Chevy and in GM. I know the Honda's and Acura's have good reliability history, but, come on, a Chevy has character, charisma and above all else, it's an American icon!! Sorry about this patriotic **** but I get a tear every time I think about it. Hope you understand bro!!

my definition of lemon laws

1. Your at the service center more then you see your own family
2. It takes longer to fix the issues on your car then it does to make a decision on marriage.
3. You come in with a box of broken parts and leave with them glued together.
4. Your standard options are a standard hazard when driving because of frequent malfunctions..and things falling on you.
5. Been in the shop more then 5 times within the last month.

Seriously, I've logged more time in the service center then I have on the road in the last 2 months. It's bad... I'm about ready to call GM and tell them to come pick this car up and they can make payments on a car that has more frequent problems then a hallucinating hypochondriac.

Your car is under warranty---take it in!

I now have 4300 miles and the car is in the shop for the 21st day today. I have filed the lemon law. In Florida its 3 times with the same problem or 15 cumulative days. I filed after 16 but have to have a total of 30 days. GM called today to arrange for the final repair which they didn't have to do since I filed for cumulative days as opposed to 3 times with the same problem. Anyway, they said that I have an appt on Aug 23rd for the final repair. I was in a meeting when the call came so I called her back and got her voice mail and told her that it was in the shop as we speak and maybe we could just take care of it now. I'll call back tomorrow.

But, if you want to file the lemon law you have to keep taking it back to the dealer and accumulate your days! I understand your frustation. My car was in the shop all of last week and they told me they couldn't find anything so when I went to pick it up I showed them so had to bring it back this morning. And, of course, had more problems over the weekend. One thing that they have not been able to find is the loss of power that I have been experiencing. Of course it never does that when they have it. But there have been so many other problems that I'm not even worrying about that at this time.

I wish you luck. I'll keep y'all posted.
