New to the SS, new to the site.

Anyways, just a general intro message... I just picked up my 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4 5-speed a few days ago. It's purple, and completely optionless... brought it home for 17,200 OTD... tax, tag, title, doc fees... all of it Did I mention it's PURPLE?!

Anyways, it's quite an upgrade from my old car, a 1991 Honda Prelude Si 5-speed with, oh... about 140,000 miles

Pics to come in the morning!

Yeah, I've still got it. Thing is, it doesn't run. Well, okay, it does run. But. (There's always a but) It overheats pretty much within 10 minutes of starting the engine up. Either the thermostat crapped out, or the water pump crapped out, or who knows what else. The clearcoat is half peeled off and half not too, so it looks like total ****. Runs pretty decent though, when it's not overheating. Well... except for the really disturbing clinking, clanking, and various other sounds eminating from the car's engine bay that really probably shouldn't be. Just before tthe overheating problem, we had to shell out a good 400 dollars or so to replace the master and slave cylinder for the clutch. Oh, and I almost forgot. The A/C on it is completely dead and buried as well. GG cracked compressor.

Welcome to the site..Thats a good deal for a 2.4. I got my 2.2 for a lil over 16 thousand, but it does have four doors and options..Either way, I would trade my slow 2.2 for any 2.4 SS anyday

Maybe it's just the lighting, but your old Prelude actually still looks pretty good. Nice Cobalt and welcome to the site!

The Cobalt doesn't get garaged?! What's wrong with this picture...

And I agree...the Prelude doesn't look completely horrid just yet.

Well see, here's the problem. If I garage the Cobalt, the Prelude would have to be parked where the Cobalt is currently sitting. And beside the Cobalt is another of our old-n-busted cars, a 95 Lexus ES300 my brother drives. Which means.... I would have no way to get out of the garage. It's a 3 car garage, but the other 2 spaces are taken up by an 03 MDX and an 05 Civic.

my thoughts exactly, I don't see a speck or rust any where. but i do see so waivy ness on the drivers rear quarter panel which may mean that it's been painted, ( or banged up a tad)

by welcome to the site. both are nice rides. you'll love to balt and you'l learn alot on this site.

Oh... and I noticed you got stuck with the standard dealer pinstripe too. That was the 2nd thing to come off of mine... it totally dosen't flow with the lines of the car.
