Newbie here

Hey everyone I just brought my 07 SS Supercharged 2 weeks ago... Just wondering what's stock factory boost because I'm hitting 15 psi with out a problem.... I've read that some ppl are hitting from 3psi to only 13psi is this a problem.. Maybe the car isn't stock or something Idk just need some info. I'm in New Jersey so does that play a factor?

Stock Boost is about 12 psi.

An aftermarket pully on the supercharger (smaller) will cause higher boost. My car runs 18 pounds of boost.

A Clogged cat will also cause higher boost.

Sounds like it might have Stage 2. I thought S2 upped it to 15psi. Stock is 12.5psi

Look at the pulley, if it's held on the hub with blue bolts you have S2.

If it's not from GM you'll have to look on the pulley for the size.

A stock pulley will have no bolts, it is pressed on to the s/c shaft. If you have 4 or 5 little bolts holding the pulley on to a hub, then its been changed.

Also, If you have an aftermarket pulley, you should check to see if it has aftermarket injectors. Stock plastic clips on the injectors will be green.

Ok thanks to every one that helpped me with the info... like I said I will be putting the pics up later today... what if I don't have the pully what could be the other reason why I'm boosting at 15psi

OP, what was the temp when you checked your boost reading?

When I was on the stock pulley, I saw upwards of 15psi in cold weather.

Prob stage2.... If it runs good i wouldnt worry about it. Clogged cat would not only raise boost but car would run like ****.

when I was stock I never saw more than 12.5 psi, even with temps in the single digits. (Yes I know I was a moron and it probably shoulda blown up from going W0T when its that cold out)

Meh.

Stock you wont't harm much. Pullied/custom tuned is a different story.

I logged 14.5psi on a 34*F day once back when I had the stock pulley, and GMS1.

Maybe my peak boost rose a little higher, because I was reving to 7k?!? Who knows.

I thought on stock your bypass will immediately release upon 13 psi or something. So if he is boosting past that, he must have a tune at the least.

We need a pic of the pulley on the SC man.
