Nightshade and Clear Coat question
Nightshade and Clear Coat question
So I just got done night shading my tail lights, and I went out a while later and put on the clear coat, but after spraying on the clear coat, the lights went from pretty shiny to almost a...more solid matte finish. Is that fairly normal and does it dry like that?
I did a nice even sweeping motion but..idk, it looked odd in some spots. I might just be overreacting which is normal for me LOL especially when it comes to my car.

not sure why but a lot of canned clear coats ive noticed dont even make it shine, i tried nightshade with clear coar and without, and lemme tell you, without clear, just straight up nightshade came out better.
no. i did the same mistake and ended up making it wayyy too dark. leave it like that for now and whenever you have 3 hours to do the following do it. this is how i removed it and redid them.
1: get airplane stripper and try removing all the paint you can, becareful dont leave it on for
too long because it can eventually eat up the plastic, or dont use too many times because it leaves
a nasty hard paste on it thats a bitch to remove (ask me how i know, well dont really ask me)
then depending on how much paint and if you have any of the paste on the lights, sand it down, i had to use 80, then 180, then 1000 but mine were really bad, if you have very little paint and no paste from the airplane stripper, you can use like 340, then 1000 or 800 wet sand. then when everything is sanded properly and all the paint is removed redo them, honestly i think 2 light coats is enough, a light black look and can see the light through very nicely.
hope this helps!

I touched it up and it looks better, thanks guys.
I have another question, does the nightshade work the same on the headlights, or do people do that at all? I have the stock head lights and while I look around for new ones and get prices and what not, I wanted to know if there was something I could do to make those look a little better in the mean time.
