Whoa dude, I almost spit out my drink. They want to buy a minority stake in GM, not buy-out the whole company!

A minority buy-in may lead to sharing parts and cars between companies. Much like GM owning shares in Saab and Subaru... You get the 9-2X (WRX Wagon Clone) and 9-7X (Trailblazer Clone).

Nissan isn't exactly on solid ground right now either, although they are on much better footing than GM. But I wouldn't mind seeing a few VQ-powered GM cars on the road...

I agree. Nissan is about the same quality as American.

Saab is a division of GM. They are owned by GM.

The Ultima is one of my favs, but with all nissans recalls lately, you have to wonder whats up with them.Maybe they want to buy into GM to get their hands in the pot per say to improve their quality.every auto company that has bought into another uses their tech to some degree

/agreed. The Nissans are worse in quality actually. hehehe. They have a lot of power train trouble between 30k and 60k miles.

Then of course there's the recalls this year for some of them catching on fire. eh.
