No joke, car flooded in storm !?

LoL, so much for joking in the other thread i made. Anywho, storm rolls in, floods my cobalt and my bro's srt-4. House is flooded as well. Anywho, as soon as the insurance adjuster confirms it's totalled, im gonna get a decked out HHR. What do yall think ? Oh and btw, the water was up to the shifter console on my cobalt, i think its gone lol....

Kinda happy about losing the cobalt, so i wont waste anymore money on trying to make it fast. After i sat and drove the HHR, damn im just in love with it. Am i going mad ? Sound off, lol and flame away for making fun of people with cai sucking up water, then karma comes and floods my car .

Sorry to hear about the damage. I don't know what my feelings are on the HHR. It's small but encapsulating which is something I like in a car. I don't like a car that is so big I can hear the echo of my own voice.

You should go test drive one, but drive the 2.4L and try that with the manual transmission. In any event, I hope you stick around on the site

You Better Be Carefull! I deal with Disasters all the time, They dont always replace it!

If it Didnt get Deep enough to flood out the Computer & the Motor. They will fix it, By replacing the rugs & seats & some of the wiring. But it depends on how much you owe or (ie) Wat it is worth!
I wish you Luck!

PS: If the adjuster starts really focusing on how deep the water was make sure you tell him it was as high as the fuse & computer box under the hood. (ie) Your hood was under water!

Funny you say that, we actually have a 2.4 manual in our shop right now, i can get a great employee discount on it. Anywho the one i was looking at is a dark silver color, 6 disc in dash cd player, 7 speaker system, auot-start, grey interior, pretty much everything there is, but its got the 2.2 with 16' rims compared to the 2.4 with 17's. I think the 2.2 is better for gas mileage anyway i think, dont remember specs. But anywho, salesman said after my discount itd be somewhere around 15,800-16,800, i was like god dayum thats cheap. But yea i live in houston, our whole area got hit pretty hard. Also a un-related question, will the GMPP exhaust fit on the HHR ? exhaust shape seems to be very similiar in design compared to my cobalt.

I also forgot to mention, we verified water in the BCM,SDM, motor, tranny, seats are soaked with water...

Sorry to hear that. Too bad you can't wait a bit. There were recently some spy photos of an HHR with a FMIC hiding behind the grill.

Exactly.

I drove one with the 2.4. Nice car... for sure... but not a performance vehicle at all.

Turbo... then we might be lookin at something.

Don't count on it. Unless you go out and try to start the car, it will probably NOT be totalled.

If you try to start the car with it wet, you'll fry all of the electronics, and possibly score the cylinder walls.

Otherwise they'll just clean everything up, dry it all off, replace all the fluids, filters, etc. Let it sit for a couple days and crank it up.

And selling it will be a bitch after that because if you go through the ins. it'll be listed in Carfax as a flood damaged vehicle.

New Update !!!

Adjuster called us and its totalled. Cobalt is gone now, so the main reason why im getting the HHR is because its a pimp little car and can be made to be something decent while still getting decent gas mileage and not being a piece of **** car. Also another thing different from the cobalt than the hhr is im not gonna mod it because i know it wont be fast, im gonna see if my gmpp exhaust will fit, other than not doing anything performance oriented, but when i get the car, still kinda trying to get everything squared away, ill post up some pics so yall can see it, later...

Ill still try to swing by the forum every now and then, but i'll mostly be at chevyhhr.net, and for anyone else who wants to check it out.
