Question Is that normal Pricing???

Some guy I know of just bought a Cobalt SS... he ended up getting financed for like $30K total?? And he just went to trade it in the other day on an older Z06 at a dealer and they only wanted to give him $21K for it. The kid just got the thing a few months ago....

???????????

I hope that 30k included rolling over a previous loan into the new one or something. Since he is trading in a car he just bought he probably did. Its a great way to make sure you are forever upside down on your loans.

Also as soon as any car leaves the lot its value drops because its no longer new.

no way a dealership offered him $21k on a trade in for a cobalt. $30k i can see happen if he was upside down on his previous car when he traded it in.

Every time one of those "What are your payments?" threads comes up, its fun to do the math and see what people are really paying. There are almost always several people paying over 30K.

I paid 7600 Cash for my 06 LS
I was looking at an SS but the thing was like 12,000 after taxes

Oh well, wishful thinking I guess.
As for the 30k vehicle, that is insane.

Never buy a car new, never.
Unless you have cash to throw away and will be top heavy and not belly up.
