And now my problem with my cobalt....

Well i thought that I was going to be a lucky person and not have any problems with my cobalt...but i guess I was wrong..So i get into my car today to drive home from school and i drive towards the road and all of a sudden my car makes a "dinging" noise and the speedometer flashes "power steering" and "low fuel" (which was not the case since i had 3/4 of a tank in). And then my car just dies, right in the middle of the road...Everything stopped working, including my door locks cause I had to manually unlock the door...So now my car is at a little "backwoods" chevy dealer in a small town (i go to college in a small rural area) and my loaner car is a sunfire that smells like an ashtray, had 1/4 tank of gas, and has no registration sticker on it....Fun stuff....I just hope my car is fixed by tomorrow..

my information center keeps telling me that I have low coolant when it is obviously not the case. I have full coolant. Turns out it's a bad sensor. It didn't inhibit my ability to drive the car just was very annoying.

By the way I have an SS

Like.. I know with any first model year of a car there are problems.. but there is a new one every day. I'm waiting for GM to be like.. Whoooaaaa wait a second.. we f'ed up the CPU's in all the cars.. here are the new ones. But until then, I'm kinda reconsidering the Cowbalt.. or as someone else put it.. the Towbalt.

I got the same error on my car , but it was only during start up and it doesn't last for more than a second. I splashed in some extra coolant and it hasn't happened since.

Okay well just got the call from the dealership where my car is at..They said that somehow a wire towards the rear subwoofer popped off and caused a fuse to blow..causing my car to completely die...I get to go pick her up in about an hour..can't wait

Anyone who is suprised by a BRAND NEW model of car having problems didnt do any research in buying a new car... Any car in its first year will have a handfull of problems, it sucks but its how it happens.. the funny thing is that sometimes the first year can be the best year so its usually worth dealing with the problems.

This also happens to me...the owner's manual says it is a serious problem...My engine light was also on, so my car was back in the shop last friday...said nothing serious with the engine light...but as far as the brake light, they could not find anything wrong with my car...said they couldn't even get the brake light to come back on....So i got my car back with "no problems" from the dealer...Will have to wait and see if it keeps coming on...

The Coolant is the temp of your engine.. has nothing to do with fluids or anything, its just the temp, good run is about 185-190 degrees as far on the information console

i had a cobalt LS b4 i bought my ss, i had the random e break light go on, and Your engine light is prop on becuase your O2' sensors are cloged. i had that problem, took it to auto zone to have computer hooked 2 it, and they deleted the codex. the dealer wouldnt replace them cus they couldnt see the codes. so yeah go strait to dealer

You dont understand... we dont go posting that we have a problem free car. you only read people who post problems. so for ever problem post theres probably 40 cobalts that have no problems on this board. i have yet to have a problem and its an 05 & my gas milage keeps rising

This thread has been inactive for 16 months, and you reopen it with this? "LOW COOLANT" is not the same thing as "COOLANT 185 F".
