Offset Steering Wheel..?

Hey guys,

So, quick question..

For awhile now, my steering wheel has been a bit off-center.. IE it's not centered.. When driving, you need it to be slightly to the left (I believe it is) for it to be going straight.. It sounds bad, but you don't really notice it while driving..

I have never had the car aligned, and I'm running Sportlines on stock FE3's (for now).. Getting some FE5's or some Koni Yellows this summer.. I've run a few sets of 18's, but am now on 17" IRL's..

Would an alignment solve this or is it from the suspension drop? Or does the steering wheel just need removed and adjusted? I've never removed it.. I know that on older cars you could do that easily, but I doubt you could on these cars..

Also, if it's alignment, where can I get it done easily? I've had several places tell me I couldn't do it there because it was lowered..

Any help would be good.. Thanks!

I'm slammed on 19's and I had the same problem. We just did an alignment with the wheel stright and that fixed my problem. Granted my stearing wheel is after market, but none the less it worked.

Yes, an alignment will fix your problem. You should get an alignment anytime you change springs or change struts. Your toe is off too from the lowering springs, which will kill your tires. Just go to a dealership, they should do it. And if a shop gives you the excuse of not doing it because it's a lowered car, than it's not a very good shop.

It's weird, because I've had these Sportlines on for almost a year, and I installed new tires shortly after.. I have no abnormal wear..

Hmm..

Sounds good though.. I may just wait until I do the FE5's..

Do you guys also recommend doing the steering rack spacer for being lowered?
