Oil Cap extension

Have 2.4 liter engine. Does anyone know if you can remove the oil filler extension after doing away with the plastic engine cover??? And then can you screw the cap into the valve cover without the extension? The cap looks stupid siting up so high off the valve cover.

Yes it comes off. OEM oil cap fits right on valve cover!

Don't try to twist it off -- just pull up and forward (towards the front of the car). It has the notch just like the oil cap but it has a lock that prevents it from being twisted off.

Oil Cap

Thank You all for the info. I suspected the cap would fit the valve cover, but couldn't get the extension off.
