oil leaking in a weird spot?

2007 chevy cobalt... 2.2 liter basic model no turbo with only 80000 miles on it... Its been pissin*oil*like crazy.. i finally found out where it is leaking from since it was hard with no engine space Any ways i need help... the water pump feeder tube that runs underneath the exhaust manifold where it connects the water pump to the thermostat housing... the O RING where the 2 pipes join together on the REAR thermostat housing is pissin oil like crazy everytime i start it.. My question is is there supposed to be oil in there ? i dont no if this car is different or not but i was thinking definitly just antifreeze...please anybody i dont want to disconnect everything and replace anything unless i know for sure why there is oil in the feeder tube in the first place

i dont know how to add a picture but this is the piece i am talking about.... on the left where the housing is where the 2 pipes join together is where it is leaking from. http://m.ebay.com/itm/181475367892?nav=SEARCH

Are you sure that's the spot? That should be just coolant that could leak there.

Yea i will take a picture of it in the morning and i will post it here.... wish i could post a video some how.. its like unbelievable.. no mechanic believes me when i say its leaking there .. and it will leak a whole quart in like ten minutes of it running. Unless something else is leaking and its trailing to that spot i said? But whats around that general area that would or could leak ? .

I thought of that but that's really weird if one came out, would definitely do what he's describing though.

Update...... ok where i originally thoughy it was leaking out of the feeder pipe i was wrong... The whole underneath of the exhaust manifold is covered with oil and its leaking everywhere.. My valve covers are defibitly leaking but it would not leak that much... these galley plugs are underneath the exhaust manifold ? d

Wow, that's a first for this platform. Pics of the damage?

Any recent work in the area performed? Or overheated?

Im actually fixing it for a friend so i have no clue what they did.. but the antifreeze resiover looks like soneone poured oil in it.. its thick and disgusting... but its strange.. right were the valve cover bolt is theres a crack that goes from there all the way to the headers. Its like barely noticable im surprised how much oil can leak out from a crack like that... I will take pictures..
