Placed order today!

I finally placed my order today for a 2006 Cobalt 2 Door Coupe SS Supercharged, Arival Blue Metallic with G85 Performance Package, and XM Radio. I didn't want a sunroof or Onstar and airbags. I can't wait for it to come in. How long do orders usually take to be delivered?

I placed an order for pretty much the exact same thing except with Sunroof, and I was told late September early October time frame. I couldn't wait that long so I just bought one on the lot

Is there anyway to track your order? Our Inventory manager gave me the sheet with the Information on it and it has vehicle order number. Is there a website where I can check the status?

Last time I checked (last week) 06 Cobalt SS's are on hold, and the hold issues are growing.
Don't hold your breath on that delivery date. If you see one on the lot now, grab it!!!!

I had dibs on the first SS they got, but I am holding out for a G85. As long as I have it before the end of September I'm good. Production isn't even supposed to start until mid July so we'll see how that goes.

Picked my options for an 06 SS today. Sunburst Orange with the G85 package and XM. The salesperson told me once the order is placed a build date estimate will be given that is supposedly accurate within about a week. However, I'm also and employee of GM in Ohio and plan on contacting some people I know at Lordstown with my order number to see if I can work out seeing my SS go through general assembly. Wish me luck!

I will also add that the salesman told me a minimum of 6 weeks, but he could have been pulling that number out of his ass.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that the 06's are going as planned due to the fact that the Tranny's in the 05's are having issues. Under heavy load they are finding that the Tranny's are cracking from the added pressure of the SC. The 06's are supposed to have this fixed. That would be the only hold up if any. This is comming from an engieer at GM. The Recall hasen't been issued yet. But will be soon. -Erik-

Production was supposed to start this month, however, all o6 SS's are on hold.
None of the holds are for a trans problem, see below:

1AP37 SS Coupe models are on hold
(UN0) Radio is on hold (1AK***)
SS Supercharged Coupe (1AP37) w/o (ASF) side curtain airbags is on hold
Non SS Supercharged Coup models are on hold
Leather seats are on hold (Base and LS Sedan)

This is from a automotive production news site that tracks auro production.
As you can see all SS production is on hold.
Don't be surprised if the 06's are as hard to get as the 05's were.
