Please help with exhaust questions

I wanna steer away from having my car (future) sounding like a A. Honda B. Swarm of bees C. Lawn Mower

now I know this is not a small block chevy motor we're dealing with, its a dual over head cam etc... But theres gotta be a way to make these cars sound good without making them sound like typical rice.

Is there a website with sound clips of various exhaust systems for these cobalt cars?

If you have a vid of your car please post with the brand etc of your exhaust

they won't sound like a honda because it doesn't rev to 9,000 rpms... most of them sound pretty similar.. there's an exhaust sound clip thread, try using the search button you should find it no prob.

Yeah, Im seriously thinking that if I buy one of these cars to keeping the stock muffler to keep it quiet. Ill just go "sleepy" and maybe go bigger on the piping etc...

my ears are use to 400hp 5.7L motors etc...

and that blue Cobalt in the link you posted.... is that yours?

anyone have a sound clip of a stock muffler and 2.5 inch pipe on the SC cobalt?

majority of the stock pipe is 2.5 or 2.75 untill the axle where it gets slightly smaller... a 2.5 in pipe would eliminate that small restriction and probably wouldn't sound a whole lot different that stock... slightly louder i would say

i don't know of anyone that really changed the stock piping and left the stock muffler... i can't remember anyone ever posting that.. 3" will be too large though at this point, especially if you're keeping the stock muffler... i wouldn't go over 2.5' unless you're planning some crazy ass mods...

think the 3inch would make you loose power without other mods being done

I agree with GMPP, but I would say the touring model as it is a little deeper, and more along the lines of what the OP is used to, IMO.

Then I would recommend either GMPP Touring, or Corsa Touring systems.
Corsa is a lot of $$$ though...

Yeah thats mine. I really wouldnt do a 3inch exhaust cause it actually hurts your performance by losing too much backpressure

Theres four I dont really care bout rep but will i get more green bars wit more rep?

Now theres another exhaust comin out, the DT-S. Its supposed to be quieter, but accordin to the video clips, its louder than the N2. And for the N2, the meter is restin right on the exhaust, but for the DT-S, its restin on the middle of the bumper. Btw, the N2 is circle shaped right b4 the tip, but the DT-S is oval shaped. That has to do wit sound, right?

3" would fit... the issue is that it's still not enough power to benefit from a 3", and by keeping the stock muffler that will pretty much restrict any gains you would have got by going with a bigger piping.
