OK. I have been on here all day looking around for a used SS. I have never even thought of getting a SS/TC untill today when I came across a good deal. I fell in love with the SS/SC years ago and have owned 2. Now I'm faced with a decision. I have the money to buy an older SS/SC and build it the way I want (Twin Charged) or get a hell of a deal on a pretty much brand new SS/TC.. I have tryed searching the site and the web for fair comparisons but there is to much biased opinion. anyone who has the T/c says its better, the same with the S/C. I'm sure all this has been discussed but I have been off the boards for a while. I am going to ask a very stupid question that I am sure has been asked a million times. ( I just cant find the awnser... Is the SS/TC that much better??
haha, no help?

I'll see if I can put something coherent together and try posting it here later...while I've never owned an SS/SC I know many who have, I've ridden in them etc. so I do have some direct comparisons to my SS/TC on a few points as well as their opinions I've heard after switching from an SS/SC to an SS/TC.
For the time being I'll give this a bump and hope to god you get some non-biased opinions (there's no way you'll get none
) and see if I end up posting something or not.

ss/tc has better seats, suspension, and motor. maximum power at low 400hp range (or low-mid 300 range on stock turbo). Given that you would be twincharged and making power in the low 400's as well...really the powertrain would be about the same for both your ss/sc and a turbo swapped ss/tc. So you'll be getting a newer car with a better interior and suspension by going with the ss/tc. also, i see a turbo swap as a more minor mod than a twincharge build. Point being i would imagine a turbo swapped LNF being more reliable than a twincharged LSJ.
Whichever you do, i hope you enjoy it. BTW, i have never owned either...so im as unbiased as they come. (though i do have a supercharger)

Please, if anyone else has an opinion based on fact, or personal experiance please add your 2 cents.
The power max for the LNF's isn't low 400's.... well it is right now... but once the fueling is opened up that is going to skyrocket very quickly!
Right now we are stuck with using about half of our cars max fuel pressure....
keep that in mind

This is what I am most concerned with. The max HP for the LNF. I have not read up on the LNF I have been to blinded by my SS/SC cars to even take the time. Is there a Stage kit to help with this problem?
Not yet... I am working with a company to give us a quick fix for our fueling woes... but right now it'll be up to HP Tuners to get our ECM unlocked.
It's not as easy as swapping injectors.... with D/I we have to up fuel pressure sprays MORE fuel in the same injection cycle. But they say "We are working on it!"
But on the Stock fuel system we are good up to 400whp and 400wtq (which is good enough to take down most) with a larger turbo
The stock turbo runs out of breath around 350-360 whp and 370-380 wtq take that for what it's worth... although my bone stock LNF made 307 and 339 with just a tune!

I wouldn't go that far... my S/C although didn't make as much power had a more and better suited powerband.
These cars fall FLAT on their faces too soon right now!

axles, clutch, complete suspension, knuckles, steering rack, antiroll bars.... i think thats about it!

from what i hear twincharging is a bitch to get tuned properly. hence why there have been lots of problems. i would stick with one or the other. get a TVS if going ss/sc.
and bolted and tuned on a ss/tc. both will be very quick.

Im not worried about getting it tuned. I would take it to ZZP and it would not leave untill it was tuned correctly. I have spoke with them a few times. They have twin charged cars for years. if something goes wrong its not that big of a deal, Its a "Tuner" car. Im getting it more as a toy.
I just got a new TC after having my SC for 3 years. The TC handles better hands down. But to be honest my old SC handled good enough that unless i was an autoX'er i really wouldn't care , the SC can corner better than i can drive it on regular roads. Braking on the TC is great , but again the SC is right there under normal driving conditions .
I really miss the pull of my SC , the TC pulls good but it's peaky. I miss the recaro seats , and the whine lol. I really like my new car , but some people dismiss the SC as inferior when in fact it performs closer to the TC than some want to believe.
One of the biggest reasons i got a TC was the updated front end , from axle's to knuckles ...it is different. I didn't want to worry about breaking stuff as the SC got older. I stayed away from the drag strip with my SC cause of all the stories about breaking trannys and front end pieces. Now i cant wait to get the TC broke in so i can take it . 300 WHP with a tune , and a great suspension to handle it made the decision easier.

Altho I would love to have the seats out of a SS/TC. How much do they sell for??

it depends on what you want out of the car...
TC better suspension, better clutch, better brakes (by far), over all interior if you have the recaros these seats suck... but they are better than the standard seats in the SC's.
SC's have instant boost, better more usable powerband, but take ALOT more money to make 300 than a TC car.
But a 300whp SC car would smack a 300whp TC car in a highway race! LOL
***BUT***
Once the full tuning options are available for the TC it won't be close anymore!

I think it will always be close ....... i really comes down to how much money you want to spend . The TC is a great car and deserves all the press that it got . The SC didn't get the press it deserved and was dismissed by many reviewers because it wasn't an import.
