power steering recall/dealership advice
alright guys, as im sure most of you know our cars had recalls for the powersteering pump. i had this taken care of a year ago on my first cobalt with no issues only took the dealership about an hour and a half to do with no charge to me.
ive since then sold my cobalt and picked up another with less miles. (68k) however my powersteering pump is definitely screwed and needs to be replaced, it shuts off every single time i drive, sometimes a minute after driving and sometimes will shut off randomly at the worst times.
MY ISSUE is that after calling and talking to the dealership GM has put all other recalls besides ignition recalls on hold and they have no idea when this will end. I know some people have fixed it themselves and been reimbursed for receipts, but i dont have the extra money and chevy cant reimburse me till the hold is over. What should I do?? Id really like to call and give them a piece of my mind since this is a huge safety hazard especially since this has happened literally between lane changes on the highway but Im not sure if that will get me anywhere, what do you guys think???
thanks for any input!

Well chevys customer service was zero help. I'm not about to dish out over 200 to get this fixed when it should be taken care of for free, apparently this is nationwide so I can't be alone here. Any ideas on what I might be able to bring up to the dealership to get them to do it

We understand this is a tough situation and unfortunately, we don't have access to parts availability information for recalled vehicles. However, please keep in mind that we are working as quickly as possible to address this matter for all those affected. If there's anything further we can look into for you, we'd be happy to discuss it via private message.
