Is this pretty average???

So... i started from maybe a 1-2mph roll in first and then went straight to WOT and ended up right at 65mph at the end of 2nd gear (6500rpm's for me) and then had to slow down.

does that sound about right for a bone stock ss/sc cobalt?

what exactly are you asking? if the speed is right on the top of second gear?

engine speed vs vehicle speed in any gear is gonna be the same unless you have dramatically changed the overall diameter of the tires or regeared your transaxle!

truth.....now if you had a timed run to that speed it would be a matter of comparison!

well usually if you do nail the gas at 1-2 mph, your gunna spin the tires, and if you shift into second and punch the gas and your tires are still spinning you'll hit 65 no problem.. when in reality you'll be going 35.

But if you weren't spinning tires, yes 65 sounds about right for the end of second gear.

I did 80 mph spinning the tires on ice in my taurus 2 years ago rofl it was awesome but I didn't really get anywhere... I think you won't get much wheel spin if you ease into WOT instead of stomping into WOT. That's what race car drivers do.

Somewhere someone posted the max MPH for each gear in the ss/sc, I know what they are for the F23 in the 2.2/2.4 but I'm not sure about the 2.0's

I'm pretty sure that it's no where near 1:1 ratio. My 4th gear is .98 ratio and at redline I'm going 130 mph. Yes, I have a 2.4, which uses a different transmission, but the SS/SC shouldn't be too far off.

Your guys 2nd gear is a lot longer than the 2.4's. At 6900 rpm I'm only at 61-62 mph.

Yeah, our 3rd is 1.12 or so, and 4th is like .86. We don't have a 1:1 gear, but second is far from it, around 1.5ish IIRC
