This is probably a dumb question but...

I have an 07 LT, and was reading on the gm website on the SS Turbo (prices and what nots) anyways I noticed that the engine is 2.0L ...my LT has a 2.2L

I do not know much about cars and stuff but am looking to get into it. and the question is.

if I were to put an aftermarket Turbo in my LT wouldn't it be faster than the 2010 SS/TC...since my engine is bigger...or am I completely off, and sumb for even thinking that.

the 2.0 is a strong engine. the bigger engine dosent realy mean more power.

No, there is a lot more to the LNF motor than the L61. It would take a lot to make a powerful LT

It is possible to make the L61 faster than the LNF but it will take a lot more time and money.

The short, general answer: Yes. If two engines were identical except for displacement, then you'd have the right idea.

The answer in this case, no, not without some major work. The LNF was designed from the get-go to be a forced induction engine with a turbo, so everything was designed with that in mind down to the block casting. You'd need to go back and mod and beef up the internals of the 2.2 engine.

Duh. The 2.2L is obviously bigger than a 2.0L, so it definitely makes more power. Why did GM even build the 2.0L, if they already had an awesome 2.2L?

okay that makes sense, so looking at just the engine, I have the right idea...but given your answer i assume there is more than just a different engine. i would guess there is more than just a different engine. thanks for answering

If you throw enough turbo at it you can be faster than a Z06. Probably only for a short period of time though
