Problems with gas guage

For those of you who who weren't around when we did this every time:
Fill up your tank all the way, and reset your trip-o-meter.
Drive normally for a couple of days.
Fill up your tank again.
How ever much gas you used, divide it into the number of miles you went on that tank.
See if that comes close to what your DIC says.

Cool
I have an appointment for 7:00 AM Monday -- hopefully it will be a quick thing like yours was, and not an all day affair.

Had my coupe in shop today because one of the cigarette plug-ins stopped working so I mentioned to them about the gas gauge never showing full. They said they had same issue with another Cobalt same day and had bulletin from GM so were able to correct it by reprogramming the ECM. So now everything's all good.
I took my vehicle in yesterday morning and it's still there. Apparently they had to order a new fuel sending unit -- or something like that -- and it's supposed to arrive today. In the meantime, I'm driving a rental 2005 Chevrolet Colorado LS Z85 Crew Cab 4x4, and all I have to pay for is gas.

i filled it up and everything looks good...oh yeah the A/C was fixed too. they replaced the A/C pressure switch.
Just a little follow up here...
...I e-mailed Chevrolet about the problem prior to taking into the dealership, and I'm really glad I did. Chevrolet's customer service manager was great to work with -- he called me just about every week to check on the situation and he may have helped me get the problem fixed sooner than if I had only contacted the dealership. Plus, he managed to get me a free oil change and tire rotation, courtesy of Chevrolet, because I'm a loyal Chevrolet customer (third Chevrolet purchase since August
). The gauge works fine now and that has been the biggest issue I've had with the car so far. It's been a great little car.

You mean like 3 weeks ago before I even had a car that provided the average mpg

I have double checked and it can be kinda of off if you don't reset the reading everytime you fill up.
