Projector Bulb Question?

Well my projector lenses are melting again and the only reason i can think of that this would happen is due to the bulbs in them being too powerful and running too hot. I was wondering if A: someone knows the name of that kind of bulb so i can buy replacements? and B: has anyone else changed theses bulbs out and to what? i was thinking of going with silverstars since they are cheap and i dont have alot of cash to spend right now with my turbo project going on. thanks guys.

switch them out with anything that uses the 55 w or w/e it is. nothing higher(might be 60 or something i dont remember). in my focus, i got some ebay projectors asnd they did the same thing. i switched them out with philips bluevision, got better vision AND never overheated. so get those or silverstars.

They use H1's for both highs and lows.

I got my Projectors off of Ebay and I replaced the Bulbs with SilverStar H1. They work great and they have a nice bright beam to them. They also match up pretty close to the Fog lamps in terms of the brightness.

I just bought some H1 Silverstars as I resealed one of my projectors last night, put it back in today and VOILA.. no more low beam. Im praying to god this is just a burnt out bulb :S... On a side note, get orange 3157 blulbs, I think they look hot up in the corners because they are such a bright vibrant orange.. gives more contrast as you will NEVER match the colour of the halos and LED's. And you will be legal too ... as it is I get enough cops looking @ my lights with strange looks, no need to give them anymore reason to pull me over
