Prolly a dumb question but.....
Prolly a dumb question but.....
I know Saturn is part of GM sooo can I order a new cobalt through a new/used Saturn dealer? I am trying to go thought this one Saturn dealer that is the only reason I ask instead of just going right to a Chevy dealer. Sorry if this is a retarded question but I just wasn’t sure. Thanks Guys…….
Depends on the Parent Company(if any).
If they are a Saturn Only dealership (no other sister companies)...then probably not.
If they do have a Chevy Dealership in theire corporation, then im sure they can call down and get one.
But they can also do a dealer trade (trade a saturn for a chevy of equal value).
So yes they can. Just depends on the saturn dealerships sales managers and if theire willing to go the extra mile for little gains.

no you cant
saturn dealers cant ever work on cobalts(chevy or anyother company) under warranty...so i would doubt they can order one
my buddy is a mechanic at a saturn dealer(owns a irl) and he can no work on my car under warranty even tho they are the same cars for the most part and it is GM

Absolutely Not.....I work in sales for a Pontiac GMC dealership and i had to go to a Chevy dealer to get my Cobalt...Induvidual brand dealerships cannot sell other brands b/c of franchise agreements and $$ issues. Its like...can i buy a new Mazda at my Ford dealership?? Nope

Im not sure why you guys keep telling him no...
I am a sales manager at a GM dealership, and do this stuff daily.
Its easily done.
In regards to posts about warranty work,
it all depends on the dealership.
My wife bought her cobalt at a Pontiac/Dodge dealership...and they do her warranty work all the time.
Just goes off of company policy.
However my dealership has 4 different service bays, and we only do one for the types of cars that we sell.
(GM, Ford, Dodge, Toyota)

so even tho im at a pontiac/gmc dealership if someone walks in wanting a brand new caddy cts they can buy it from me?? ive been in the business for 5 years and ive never seen it done
keep in mind this is the only dealership under this owner...he doesnt have a caddy dealership as well

well like it was said 2 posts up...it goes against gm policy and ive never had any luck in getting a dealership to do warranty work for a diff GM brand...i even work for one
ur talking about warranty work specifically right?? not just like routine maintenance
Yes, the only reason why most wont do it is because its not a sure sale.
They arnt going to trade in a brand new saturn, for a brand new chevy on the hopes of a sale...
because nobody goes to a saturn dealership looking to buy new chevys.
But it also goes with the other dealership. if its an outside dealership(not related to yours via parent corporation), then they have every right to say no.
like i said, its easily doable.
all the work done on my vehicle is done at wolf chevrolet...including warranty work.

it seems to go against the whole point in having a franchise agreement...offsetting the balance of dealership competition for business
oh...well lucky you...I've never had that kind of luck...i even have to have my used (non pontiac/gmc) GM cars at work sent out for warranty work

Not really, how often do you get someone walk into a dealership and tell you they want a completely different brand? I know my grandma did it with no problem, she went to the closest dealer(Buick) and got her impala.
a lot of people come in here and ask us for buicks but we dont have that franchise so we send em down the street
