Ps4 or xbox 1
[QUOTE=AaronJ;7208132]Xbox One, but I'll wait 6 months down the road when the games are cheaper and I'll pick up a used system off some broke college student who needs to sell his Xbox One to pay rent
.
Pawn shops are good places to find stuff like that as well.

just the way some ppl look at it. if its all you do then yeah kinda odd.. but if its something you do on the weekends for a couple hours or just a couple times a month.. not so weird. just like ppl playing sports imo. my buddy will go out and play basketball for hours. and for what? not going pro anytime soon. just fun
Dont get me wrong... I'm not against games... not at all. But honestly, most 'gamers' I see are sad to even look at, in almost every aspect. Its like a drug... casual users are good to go... the 'hooked on it' junkies, they have issues that need to be addressed.
pretty big difference actually... playing basketball didnt cost a bunch of money and its great exercise (improves health)... video games cost a ton of money and you sit on your ass the whole time (unless doing the motion styled ones of course)

Ill agree with you colt but I have to play devils advocate. Basketball can cost lots. Could get injured, forced to take time off work or if you live where I do...you could get shot or attacked by some jackholes pitbull.
As for me and video games. It used to be what my friends and I would do when we couldn't hang out in high school. Now its what I do for entertainment late at night when most people are sleeping but like I stated earlier, ill play til I'm old and arthritic.

And I don't even game or smoke pot haha. But I know where you're coming from when you say that.
It's because you have an "idea" of what gamers look like. It's no different than people thinking "potheads" are the only ones that smoke weed and if you do smoke weed you're going to become a no good pothead. Truth is there are so many other people that game out, engineers, doctors, teachers, etc. but because they keep a day job and have a life and don't look like a deadbeat people don't call them "gamers".

Stereotypes are stereotypes.
Something to be said about better hand eye coordination from videos games might relate to better driving reaction time, or moar race carz.
I probably game a minimum of 10 hours a week, but I could also kick anyone's ass here at basketball or anything fitness related as well.

ive heard playing video also increases your reaction time
Honestly I'll say one is not better than the other at this point in time. They just came out. The ps4 do have features right out the boxy the xbox have issues with...like streaming live...the xbox have features that are better out the box like voice commands. Guys who saying graphics are better are kinda in that fan bio tip, which is cool. I am a Sony fan boy, but to a point. Fact the ps4 is more powerful than the xb1. Not by a whole lot but it is. The developers will se techniques to pick up the slack.
Fact
Cod was native 1080p on ps4 and upscaled to 1080p xb1
Assassin creed on ps4 was running more than 60 Fps but dipped down to 60. They fixed it.
So one can say ps4 is more cable. Anywho as time goes on and developers work we shall see
Either way sony is laughing all the way to the bank, cause xbox have to basically pay royalties for the use of blue ray.

Idk, hasn't the patent on the Blu-ray technology already expired? That would mean Microsoft would be free to develop their own Blu-ray readers without paying royalties.
ill be taking the ps4. 95% the same games on both systems and its 100$ cheaper and doesn't have half baked "extras" built into it. also 10$ a year cheaper for online play and a psn subscription isn't needed for Netflix and other things that shouldn't be attached to xbl. and I don't care that they rescinded their DRM plans, those mother ******* shouldn't have tried to implement them in the first place. and no bluray has to have royalties paid till they don't sell them anymore. and its not that much. dollar a unit maybe. which really is paid by whoever supplies the drive not MS, they do pay for it when its built into the price of the drive but that's splitting hairs.

I wad wondering that too. I see a lot of other brand players for cheap. I bought one for my computer for $40 and I can't imagine if a company pays royalties that the could make a profit on $40
old article but still. few cents per disk. Blu-ray victory means royalties, royalties, royalties | News Blogs - CNET News
Ah yeah you are right, but the royalties aren't paid to Sony, its paid to the Blu-Ray Disc Association, which is a group off all the parties involved in inventing the Blu-Ray technology.
A further google search yeilded that current (idk what year or how current) royalties to the BRDA was $9 for every reader, $12 for every reader/writer, and $0.10 for a regular BR disk, and $0.16 for the XL BR disk. It seems like the royalties are always falling to prevent "the next big thing" from coming along as much as possible. It also seems that once the patient expired, royalties dropped a ton. I'm assuming because now everyone doesn't have to pay for the patent rights, now they are just paying for the Blu-Ray logo and certification as opposed to making rip-off "Blu-Rays" like China is doing.

They both have the SAME cpu, with different gpu's...and I thought the ps4's gpu was a tad better. Now they are both x86, there will NOT be as many differences in gfx etc between them. Now it comes down to game preference and online ability that fits you. Which makes pc gaming look even better
