Pursuit test drive

Test drove my first Pontiac Pursuit last night... base model 4 door (as they all are, at least for 05 models). Dark blue one... looked alright! Might look better with the foglights tho.. the front bumper is a little plain. It's different than the pics we've all seen. Sorry, I didn't take my camera with me last night...

It handles better than the base models J's (IMHO).. the dash is really nice, gauges really well thought out, the standard driver info centre is cool because it tells you things like fuel economy, yadda yadda yadda. The dash is nice, but the door panels are very plastic... nasty actually. I think they'd be better if they were still vinyl wrapped

The seats are nice... they have height adjustment standard and are very comfortable. Good bolstering... you actually get held IN the seat now, even for guys like me (a little bigger in the midsection ). Sightlines are good.. the wheel isn't too bad.. throttle response, etc is the same as the 03-05 J's since it's the same powertrain.

The battery is in the trunk! Which I find odd simply because there's nothing venting it to the outside... which means... it's track legal because it came from the factory like that!!

The engine bay tho... very plain. So much plastic it's hard to see anything... tho the plastic well around the oil dipstick is nice, you can get to it easily and there's nothing to burn your hands. Intake is on the passenger side now... coolant on the driver's side.

All in all, not a bad car.. esp for the price and all the standard features compared to Civic, etc.. I might get one (in the future).

We took a trade in vehicle from an American guy once, it was too much of a pain to certify so we ended up selling it to a wrecking yard.
