? Question about the Boost gauge ?

Is there anyway to zero the gauge or set it?

With only the key on my gauge sits below zero and at full boost it misses 12psi by the amout it is below zero.

Well at idle it won't be a positve boost...it's in vaccum until you romp on the throttle.

As for not hitting 12psi...i can't say why that'd be. Mine's in kPa....stupid metric system....and I get a tad over 80 kpa...

81kpa x 0.14504 psi/kpa = 11.7 psi - that's close enough for me.

My question to you is how long have you had your car??

Because if your car is still in the break-in period, the computer won't allow the engine to see full boost. From what I've heard, it is limited to about 10 PSI.

After the break in period, you should be able to hit 12 pretty easily

I've got about 3000km's on mine now.

I wonder if geographical elevation has anything to do with this too...?

mine quickly snaps to zero when I hit the starter - then it goes into vacuum... as for the 12 psi, i seem to be able to hit it whenever i want to (and i've only got 1400 mi)

If the stock boost guage is the same as the SRT-4 (which I've heard it is) then it will vary from car to car. Some SRT-4 guages were off by as much as 5psi... and contrary to the excuse given in the owners manual it has nothing to do with above or below sea level.

It's just the cheapest boost guage that Autometer makes, hence quality is minimal.
