Question on Cobalt SS supercharge

Hi,

My car was been stolen last saturday at the shopping center. It was a silver Mitsubishi Ralliart.

So I need a new car and I was looking at the Cobalt SS supercharge. I have test drive one and it's great.

I'm considering the Cobalt or the GTI. Can you tell me if you had problem with your Cobalt SS supercharge? What is the 0-60 mph times and quarter mile for that car?

I might get it yellow.

Anything else I should know before buying one?

Thanks a lot for the help.

If you get a SS/SC make sure it's the G85. A mistake I made. As far as problems, some people are having a problem with the stock clutch but if you drive it right you should be ok. Not saying that there isn't a problem with some that is pretty much all cars are going to have something wrong.

You won't be sorry if you decide on a SS/SC.

1/4 time stock, is mid to high 14 for the average driver... some have hit low 14's stock.

0-60 = 6.1 secs (varys from where you look)

0-60 has been recorded in magazines as low as 5.9 and the lowest 1/4 mile i've seen in a magazine is 14.4, i was able to hit 14.5 with an OK launch, and its also a nice fact to know that the cobalt ss supercharged cars are underrated, bone stock i made 220hp and 190tq at the front wheels... i suggest buying one of these cars very much. good luck in your car search even if u dont decide to go with a cobalt. get the G85 performance package! the recaros are so nice and you cant not like having a limited slip

I already did a test drive and it was great. I also test drive the GTI and it was ok also.

What do you mean by G85? Where can I see that? What's the difference?

As I see with the numbers the car is really fast.

The SS/SC (had it for 9 months now) continues to impress me everyday. The fact that we now have warranteed kits available by GM makes it even better. The market is building for our cars and I can see nothing but a good future for the cobalt. People like to rip on the cobalt ss/sc because either they have never driven one or they refuse to believe an american tuner car out of the box has wonderful potential just like the srt4 does. Just curious....what drew you in to the GTI? owned one b4 or just test drove one??

But does it make a difference for the LSD? I don't love the recaro seats that comes with the package. I don't like the forms of the seats.

In the past my parents had a jetta and they were satisfied. The quality is good and there's a lot of gadgets in this car.

It's really not easy to find a Cobalt with the LSD package. Do you think my dealer can get my cobalt elsewhere in Canada or they are restricted to the province?

Your dealer can search anywhere in Canada. You might have to pay for shipping though.

I really don't care for the recaros either. I was also curious as to if the LSD is that much better than a car without. My friend was running a 14.0 without the LSD (he was bone stock).

I haven't had any track time with the LSD, so I honestly don't know if it makes any difference. As for the recaro's, they are great seats for short trips here and there. But I get the feeling they may not be the best for lengthy trips.

You also have to be a certain size for the recaro's to be comfortable ever.. So they are really iffy. I fit perfectly in mine, and wouldn't have it any other way personally.

Ok so we are not sure if the Lsd make a big difference.

Do you know if the seats in the SS supercharge are heated?

My girlfriend wants the car red or blue but I like the yellow.

The tires that comes with the car or they summer tires or all-season tires?

Do you think that the Xm radio in the car or the on-star are options that worth it?

First of all, when you are spending that much money on a car, you should pick the color that you will be happy with, not your girlfriend unless she's paying the bill. Secondly, I would say that Xm isn't too impressive, I have listened to both Xm and Sirius and like Sirius better, so I don't feel that the Xm is worthwhile. I am still on the fence about if on-star is worth it or not. To be honest, both the on-star and the Xm are personal preferences.

the lsd is for hard cornering. people argue it helps a little bit in the straight line.. but...

no they are not heated

if its ur car get the color you want. i almost learned that the hard way. ur gf aint driving it every day and paying for it

pure summer tires

XM is def worth it. on-star isnt in my opinion. i didnt want xm at first but the car with the options i wanted had it, so i was stuck with it...but im sooo happy i have it now.. its all i listen to

For the color of the car, it's our only car so we want to both like it. Take my word, there's good chance that I pick the color.

We don't know if we will get the on-star or not. The customer is giving us a good deal and in the package it comes with the on-star. For the first year it's free.

For the Xm radio I don't know how it works and if you have to pay per month a fee to get the radio.

But we will pick up a sunroof that's for sure. It's the other options that we are not sure.

If LSD is just for hard cornering than I think it's not worth it since I won't do auto-cross.

The seats do come heated (IF you take one color leather seats)... I loved the dual color... My cousin has heated seats in his Jetta and told me he never uses them. So I opted for dual color instead of single color & heat.

wrong heated seats are not! an option for the Cobalt SS/SC, doesn't matter what colour you select.
but some dealers can install them for you, or you can have them installed elsewhere. they're about $600.00 for driver and passenger seats.
