Question for HID experts...

Thinking about getting HIDS finally, here are the questions;

1) For my fog lights, I should use a Single LOW BEAM hid kit H11 right?

2) For my headlights, if I were to put it in my stock ones id need a bi-xenon kit (low and high beam) that is 9007.

But having in mind I'm prob gonna get gen 2's that have 1 projector (low beam) and 1 reflector (high beam) do I need a bixenon or should I use a single low beam for the projector and leave the high beam as is?

The wiring for the gen 2's I guess will be a little tricky, bc if I use a low beam hid kit for my projector it probably means that it alone will be brighter than my high beam (no HID)?

3) Do I need a relay wiring kit for both fogs and headlights?

Help me out here! Thanks in advance!

You don't have to get bi Xenon in the stock headlights. And gen 2 headlights are H7 size bulb I believe.

You don't need a relay in the fog lights and you can get one for the headlights if you want but you don't have too. I never did.

Lol if u don't get bixenon for stock that means u don't have high beam and u don't pass inspection.

But yeah I'm prob gonna upgrade to gen 2's, I just need a low beam hid kit? How about the high beam in it will it work? I'll get the relay for headlights just to make sure but my fogs are aftermarket wired so I don't need them.

Thx for the info!

You will still have them but they won't be HIDS. That's how my old set of HIDS were. And not every state requires that to pass inspection. Where I live, they don't check your lights.

Yeah but I think the ones I want come without the bar across the top, or I'll just leave it unhooked.

Thx chevygirl I understand now! I barely use my high beam anyways so I'll go with the single beam hid and save some cash!

Thats dumb.
HB have their benefits.
Get a tilting HID kit or buy some retros.
Preferably number 2 there...

HB?
I don't like retros, first of all I don't feel like spending 400$ in a set, I have other things id rather spend my money on. And second I like the dual halo look, which can't be achieved on stock housing retros. Just asking for HID kits not for headlights. Trust me I've done my research I don't care about output and I don't spend money on this car like that. My headlights are crapped out I might as well get a little upgrade from stock rather than getting stockers since HID on stock blinds people.

FYI HIDs in stock headlights produce more useable light then HIDs in Ebay Projectors. Our lights are designed in such a way that they hardly produce glare and do not blind people like say civic headlights would.

I'm running HIDs in my stock housings right now because I had a set in the garage that I never used and got bored last weekend and threw them in. The light output is terrible with the stock housings IMO. its really blotchy and all over the place. And the high beam option is a joke. the bulbs move in and out so I'll pass inspection because they guy will see the light pattern change, but it doesn't put out any more light on high than it does on low.

I'm getting Depo projectors soon, so I'm not too worried about it right now.

Of course, Im talking about the bulbs I sell which are completely different then what you are describing.. Ours are shorter and TILT giving you true high beams. The output is amazing. Telescoping bulbs as you know suck.

its funny, because when I tested the kit a while back when I first got it, prob 3 years ago, I could have sworn the bulbs tilted. but now in the Cobalt they just pull back. oh well, they won;t be in too much longer anyways
