question on lowering
Depends on your dealership. They cant "Void" your whole entire warranty, but they can deny covering certain things if they conclude the problem was caused by and/or encouraged by the aftermarket equipment.
For example; Customer comes in with a suspension squeek on turns. Vehicle has aftermarket springs. Chances are the ball-joints are bad, due to incorrect trim height, and added strain. They will tell you, sorry, we cant cover this due to aftermarket equipment, your vehicle needs 2 balljoints and we recommend a FEA. Your total will be $360 parts, labor and tax included.
Now if the same car came in, with a check engine light on and no performance mods, the dealership will diagnose and cover it.
Now if you are a technician like me, and work for a Chevy dealership, you can modify anything you want and still get it covered! :-)
