Canada Question on torque steer and the ingalls!

Well, my question is ..................does the ingalls reduce torque steer and that whole all over the place feel on the highway??????? I've noticed that on WOT(and really bad roads in general) I have to really take control of the steering wheel notably when it is windy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if it's just the engine jumping all over the place, or the road, or it's the pirellie's(stock tires). I noticed that when I changed the tires over to the winter ones in November(blizzak revo's) I had a better feel and more control but now that I've changed back over to the summer tires(stock).........the steering wheel is all over the place...........Is that normal?????? Maybe the ingalls is the solution or maybe you guys can tell me the secret to running this car without it going all over the place......??? I recently went on a road trip when it was really windy and felt like people around me were looking at me like I was drunk!!! I couldn't really get a grip on a straight line on the highway!!! any solutions???????????

I've noticed the same thing with this car. It feels sloppy and all over the place. People probably think I'm driving impaired most places I go...

For the F35 Getrag only... No love for the F23... I wonder if the F35 will bolt right up to the 2.4L?

the car wandering like that can be from wind, as well as grooves in the pavement that we can't see, but the tires pick them up and can steer the car from them. It's common for "stickier" tires to have a wandering feeling due to this.

Exactly. You'll notice this also on newer tires...especially sticky ones as noted above. Most of the highways around here are rubberized now with black pavement, but a few are still grooved concrete, and whenever I hit those parts, it's definitely an exercise to stay in my lane at times. Once I'm on the blacktop, I can point it and let go of the wheel if I wanted to. (not that I would . . .)

Low profile tires are hard to drive on uneven roads.

I've also noticed that my car wanders as well. I thought it was normal though.

WOW, I think we're on to something with this wondering car issue. It happens to me too. I thought it was uneven wear on my tires but I guess not. Very Interesting. I'm going to make a new thread and see how many people this is affecting.

It's due to the wider tires, the reason you don't notice it with winter tires is because they are narrower. Solution........use a 205 tire.

its not due to wider tires.....i could have a 335 on there and it wouldnt wander if the tire was a junky compound. Wandering=sticky tires following grooves in the concrete. END OF THREAD! lol

You will never eliminate torque steer on a FWD
