Quick And Easy Question.. Exhaust

Hey guys,

Just a quick, and hopefully easy question. But feel free to expand further on it.

Looking to go back to stock exhaust. I found a guy who has one on his car still. I would like to remove it all as ONE PIECE and then install on my car in the same way. No cutting, welding, etc. NO. Remove bolts, remove 02, un-hook donuts, and pull off. Reverse. Nothing more. I would assume you could if you raise the car as much as you can and the exhaust could slip through the now hugely gapped rear axle.. But not sure.. Any input? SS exhaust by the way..

Simply: Is there a way to remove the stock exhaust without cutting?

Thanks!!

Can't just raise it a lot. Nope. Brake lines...

Gotta disconnect rear brake lines which becomes a PITA with bleeding them and what not. Could also likely tear apart whole rear suspension and slip out the side somehow lol.

just cut it before it goes over the axle and have it welded up. quit making the situation more difficult

Jeeze. lol Would you recommend to just hack it and weld it then? Is the OEM exhaust easily weldable by most machines?

And I like making the situation difficult. lol

But no, I'm tired of my car being loud, and at least I know it'd be quiet then..

I'd say find someone who will weld it or ask a shop how much they'll charge.

You could always just quiet down your exhaust. Put another resonator on it or weld in an auger insert or something.

Is it possible to arc weld it?

I'm no welder but I think not. Probably need to MIG or TIG it.

Sorry, but what's an auger? lol

I have GMPP piping, a stock SS resonator, a Dynomax Super-Turbo muffler ,and a resonated tip. The Dynomax was real quiet for awhile, but now it's about the same as my GMPP was. I like the flow, I'm just tired of the noise..

The auger is a spiral insert you put into the exhaust tubing and it significantly quiets it down. Pertronix.com, Summit Racing, Jegs, etc should all carry them.
