quick question

would a good weld on bung with a plug be enough to stop any leaks from happening on the oil pan wall above the drain plug?

would the reason my tapped plug in the oil pan is leaking be because the wall is too thin?

also should i go with a male or female style weld on bung?

i take it you have a threaded one in there already and its leaking, id remove it and put some/replace the teflon tape thats on it, if that doesnt fix it, then id have one welded on, those oil pans are thick, that shouldnt be an issue.

I had a similar problem trying to stop a leak through the fitting threads of a transmission cooler. I tried the teflon tape and several things. Then, finally went to Advance bought a tube of Permatex high temperature thread sealant. That worked like a charm.
