Quick warranty question

I have a friend looking at a 2006 G85 pkg, the price is right, but he is concerned about warranty.

The car was a trade-in at a local Hyundai dealer, and is not GM Certified.

the Carfax says:

Type of Coverage: Original Warranty: Estimated Remaining Coverage:
Basic 36 months or 36,000 miles Coverage expired
Drivetrain 36 months or 36,000 miles Coverage expired
Emissions 24 months or 24,000 miles Coverage expired
Corrosion 72 months or 100,000 miles 42 months or 56,990 miles
Transferable Drivetrain Warranty coverage to 5/60,000.
$0 deductible, transferable at no charge.
Same

Roadside Assistance 36 months or 36,000 miles Coverage expired
Safety belt & inflatable restraint No data reported to CARFAX
Specific Components 96 months or 80,000 miles 66 months or 36,990 miles
Notes: Manufacturer covers emissions components under basic warranty. Emissions
coverage may vary by state. Refer to owners manual for specific details. Transferable:
no cost, unlimited owners covered. Alignment and wheel balancing are considered
maintenance after 7,500 miles. Basic warranty includes corrosion, batteries,
adjustments, alternate transportation, roadside assistance, and tires. Roadside
assistance is covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles Drivetrain Warranty coverage to
5/60,000. $0 deductible, transferable at no charge.
So, basically its out of 3/36,000...but what about the 5/60,000?

But because its not GM Certified he will have to call GM and ask if the forms and such were filled out, correct?

He said the salesman at the lot didn't know if it had one or not...

2005 and 2006 Cobalts have a 5yr/60k mile powertrain warranty.

There are no forms or salesman or deductibles or anything invovled...its ust like the new 5yr/100k mile powertrain that came out midyear 07 excpet its only 60k miles.

the warrenty stays with the vin number, if he has a problem with it you just take it to gm and the look up the vin and find it has warrenty, just like any other new car warrenty
