radio help!!!!

radio help!!!!

hey guys i did some searching but cant fidnd the answer to my problem

i just installed a jvc dvd double din indash w/ the modular harness (cuz i have pioneer system and on star) all wires secured and correctly connected plugged it in, got lights and the radio is working but im not getting ANY SOUND!!

there is a second plug that came off the oem headunit but i assumed its for the steering wheel controls.

can anyone gimme a hand w/ my dilema. time is of the essence cuz its downstairs w/ the dash apart still lol

easy fix, there should be a spare blue wire on the new harness, tap it to the harness's ACC. wire.

ok so connected the blue power antenna and got sound

but when i throw a cd in it makes no sound... reads the disk and seems to be playing as indicated by display BUT no sound

anyone? i figure it might be the radio itself but i wont know til i try another one later today

as always ur help is appreciated

You tied into the power antenna wire. When you pop in a disc, the head unit kills the power on that line so the antenna will retract (assuming a power antenna is installed) which is how it should work.

Instead of an antenna, you are using this wire to trigger your amp. This works fine as long as you only want to listen to the radio, not so good for a disc as you found out.

Your head unit is fine, you just need to find an acc wire to tie into.

Like bluelightning said, post this in the electronics section, Emperor will be able to tell you where to tap into
