Ummm...

Is this a trick question?

There's no mathematical formula here, and I'm not sure that there is a "better-best" scale on colors, is there? (With the one exception of "silver-green metallic")

Pick the color you like best, and go with that one.

I don't think the color will affect the build date or resale value of the vehicle. If you're looking for one already on the lot (in a couple of months) I'd be willing to believe that red will be more available than yellow, but I'm sure they'll both be out.

That’s correct, so go for yellow… everyone’s going to have a red one
This may help:

I will never understand why they limit the colors for the SS. I would think they would sell more if they had more color options.

Something to always think about when selecting color: yellow is the easiest color for cops to see, then red. So depending on your driving style the red will catch the eye of the cop less. Also I think the yellows that have been comming out on cars is a fad, red always sells, if your looking at resale. One big problem with red is the cost of paint. Blue (cobalt) it the most expensive then red. Lucky the red paint on the Cobalt is not a metallic pearlessent. And my last item in terms of color RED LOOKS GREAT, if I wasn't getting black I would get red.

I think any colour on this car will look excellent. The car itself will catch the eye of other people. It was toss up of Rally Yellow or the Blue for me, and i ordered the Rally Yellow. When i finally do get it, I will post pics of the Rally Yellow for everyone to see.

The may sound weird, but yellow cars are the least pulled over out of all colors. Even less then white, you may think it stands out but it really doesnt..

Further, cars of any color that drive within the limit of the law are pulled over even less than yellow.

I've worked hand in hand with cops before. It may even be why some people find me to be a bit obnoxious myself. The fact that people think that colors attract cops is amusing to both law enforcement officers and myself.

Point of fact: darker colors don't reflect radar as well, but you're talking like the difference between 92% and 90.5%. Radar that bounces off a non-speeding car means that the cop doesn't have to get out of his comfy car to bother you.

Here's the thing. The cops want to give everybody tickets. Everybody. And they don't care if you're in a yellow SS/SC Cobalt or a white minivan. So if you give them a reason, they'll give you a ticket, regardless of car color.

If you're not speeding they are probably not going to bother you. If you're buying a vehicle with the intent of getting away with speeding or any other crime, then maybe you should worry about buying something that can outrun the cops, not just a Civic or an SRT.

Buy the color you want, not the color other people think you should have.

Could this be because there aren't a lot of yellow cars on the road? Honestly, how many do you see in a day compared to red or blue cars?

Heres an expriment for you:
1) Find a car
2) Paint it flat black. Radio reception will be **** & cops will be all over your ass thinking that u have a radar jammer.
Paint matters when it comes to radio/radar reception.
BTW If u speed dont make it noticible

I suppose it's a personal choice, but if I only had a choice of red and yellow, i'd go with the yellow. I did see the red personally (Cobalt LS coupe) and didn't really like it (I am more of a fan of a deep-red color though... paprika or that Milano Red that Acura has)

They had a great picture of a yellow one on the J-body.org forums:
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...=80049&t=80049

I would suggest that you go down to your local dealer and take a look (My dealer has almost every color of sedan). Honestly, based on the pictures, I was undecided whether I wanted Red or Black. I went to the Auto show last weekend and just ordered one in Arrival Blue

Good Luck
