ok so i got the k&n air intake kit for my 07 cobalt and i installed it correctly and now it smokes black for like 30-45 seconds on a cold start and i have no clue why its doing this. I took it to my dealership and they couldnt find anything wrong and i had multiple ppl look at the problem and the only thing anyone could come up with is that my car has california emissions. I took off the intake to see if it would still smoke and now it doesnt so it has something to do with the intake. has anyone come across this problem before or does anyone know what i can do to fix the smoking problem.

so is this about a ram air intake, or your K&N, or emisions?

what exactly smokes... does the actual intake smoke? does the exhaust smoke? does the smoke come out of the engine? need some more details here. does the filter smoke like it's burning? do you have sai? if you do have sai, what did you do with the extra hoses?

how bout this, you'll answer about 10 questions if you can post a decent picture of your engine bay.
