Raptor Shift Light install

Peace
Finally got around to adding the pics of placement. Here it is ..... https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/sho...atid=newimages
So I have a 2.4 and I got the Shift Light installed. I got power and the ground connected the only thing is that there is no brown/white wire. There was a solid brown wire which I connected the shift light to and it didn't work. I try a green/white wire but that only works like once every fives times. Any clues, suggestions, comments, anything?
hey i wana put the tach with the shift light mounted on it in my car and it has a black/green/red/and white wire on it so i figure u run red to power switch, black to ground, green to the 1st cylinder but duno about the white if anyone know or knows the correct set up it would help me alot... yea i kno about the tah y have one when u can have the shift light instead. but i got a really good tach but autometer for free and i have a place to put it just need to kno how to wire it up. also did u have to get the gage module or no thanks ...
Thanks guys. I just bought one. your instructions are helpful. I like the design and price. I will see how it comes over the boarder (duties). I like the looks and placement. I ordered a red one to match the interior red accents. It will go on the a pillar.
got the rpm shiftlight tach to work today
u wire red to power(pink) on ur boost gauge.ground the black wire up the white to the gray boost gauge wire. then run the green wire through the firer wall and to the first coil pack. witch u then splice green into the tan wire and then ur done set rpm **** save and go hit the shift light ...

pillar mounted light with air bags??
Quick question... did anybody mount the shift light on the pillar next to the boost gauge with the side curtain air bags? or do i have to find another spot 2 do it. o and is it hard to take the pillar off with teh airbags?
edit.. answered my own question... more then enough room to mount with airbags. just as easy as every1 says to take off the pillar

LOL that is pretty funny... our car is so fast that the tach cant keep up to the engine....LOL.
Just thought that sounds funny.
Thankyou for putting me onto this product. HOW TO DO with Complete pictures to be on MYCARDOMAIN. soon.
autometer tach help!!!
I recentley bought a autometer tach and tach adapter but i am unsure of where the coil positive is. Do i hook it up to the wiring harness leading up to the aluminum coil pack? I have a 2.2l cobalt. Please somebody help me, i don't want to cut wires unless i know which wires to splice into.
Great help, just got mine in but have to wait to put on. Car going to dealer on wenesday for a Stage 2 ECU update and a tint issue. Won't have back till next tuseday because going to Dallas next for 5 days on thursday. Will install mine behind the A/C vent for a still stocky look. I got the red one to match the gauges color, will post pics as soon as installed.
Whats up guys, I've just installed a Raptor shift light on my car yesterday and it appears to be working okay except that I get a few random occassions when I'm not near redline and the shift light will blink once. I'm wondering if maybe my settings aren't right?! I've got it set to 1 cylinder and at 6300RPM.
Now I read the how-to thread about the Raptor shift light and I saw that most were hooking it up with the boost gauge. Well since I have a 2.2 I couldn't do that and didn't want to run the wire to a fuse box so I wired the power to the cig lighter (i've read on other forums this is what others have done with their raptor shift lights), the ground to the chasis of course and then the green wire to the brown wire with white stripe under the hood.
Now at 6300 it'll blink just fine like its supposed to but I'll get random single blinks during deceleration or acceleration. I'm just wondering if maybe the settings should be different on a 2.2 from the 2.0 or maybe I should look elsewhere for the power wire. I also notice that it does not test the LEDs upon turning on the ignition. Is this normal? Oh and I double checked the connections to make sure they were all good...
What are your guys thoughts? Do you think its something wrong with the settings I have or should I re-think my wiring setup?

You have to remove the top engine cover to get to the 4 coils. Pin "B" is coil #1 driver (in 4pin connector on coil #1), brown wire with white stripe.
If you connect to one of the fuel injectors, you can get erratic results due to spurious pulses if you "blip" the throttle. The shift light will see this and light up the LEDs prematurely.
Also, those blue wire taps are too big for the 22 gauge wire on the shift light. Use the red ones rated for 22 gauge wire instead.
The coil connection as stated above, is the best RPM signal to connect to.

I also just installed the raptor shift light. Easy to install. I removed the
left "A" pillar trim panel, ran the wires down through the gap there, power and ground at the fuse block in the center console. Then I ran the green wire out to the brown/white
wire at the #1 coil IC 1 control circuit.
works great. No more hitting the rev limiter accidently. Had to play with the adjustments
to get the light to come on just before actual limit.

the shift light i just got is not the raptor but has 3 wire hook up ,red black and green.is it possible to see where the green is taped into? mine is saying electronic ignition or coil and im unsure on either and i dont want to screw it up. i got a crappy instruction adn cant reall read it lol
that would be awsome ssnipes,i'm outta town this weekend till sunday night, mon or tues evening would be cool. i work till 6.let me know if that would work for you and we can set something up
either there or my place or do you have a place. timing based on time to travel to where ever to get er done.
just wondering I have read the entire thread and it seems that alot of poeple on here are having problems wiring this up, can I have 1 person with the most experience on this please pm me on how the install is supposed to happen (I'm not that great when it comes to electrical stuff lol), also I have the airbags in the A piller will they deploy if I try and take the A piller off to install the wires?? and my last question how bright is it?? it seems kinda small... if it is pointed right at me will I be able to see it light up (I'm guessing it will since they are LEDs but just want to be sure) thanks
